[30].Surah Ar-Rum [The Romans]: Ayat 17-18

Ayat 17. So glorify Allah [above all that (evil) they associate with Him (O believers)], when you come up to the evening (prayers) [i.e. offer the (Maghreb) sunset and ('Isha') night prayers], and when you enter the morning [i.e offer the (Fajr) morning prayer].
Ayat 18. And His is all the praises and thanks in the heavens and the earth, and (glorify Him) in the afternoon (i.e. offer 'Asr prayer) and when you come up to the time, when the day begins to decline (i.e offer Zuhr prayer). (Ibn 'Abbas’ said: "These are the five compulsory congregational prayers mentioned in the Qur’an)."
Tafseer of Surah Al Rum (The Romans) Ayat 17. So (give) glory to Allah, when ye reach Eventide and when ye rise in the morning; The special times for Allah's remembrance are so described as to include all our activates in life-when we rise early in the morning, and when we go to rest in the evening; when we are in the midst of our work, at the decline of the sun, and in the late afternoon. It may be noted that these are all striking stages in the passage of the sun through our terrestrial day, as well as stages in our daily working lives. On this are based the hours of the five canonical prayers afterwards prescribed in Madinah; viz., (1) early morning before sunrise (Fajr); (2) when the day begins to decline, just after noon (Zuhr); (3) in the late afternoon, say midway between noon and sunset ('Asr); and (4) and (5) the two evening prayers, one just after sunset (Maghreb), and the other after the evening twilight has all faded from the horizon, the hour indicated for rest and sleep (Isha'). 18. Yea, to Him be praise, in the heavens and on earth; and in the late afternoon and when the day begins to decline.
Hazrat Shaqiq bin Abdullah reported: The Companions of the Messenger of Allah image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) did not consider the abandonment of any action as disbelief except neglecting Salat. [At-Tirmidhi Hadith # 2622]

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Ar-Rum [The Romans] Ayat 17. “So glorify Allah [above all that (evil) they associate with Him (O believers)], when you come up to the evening (prayers). The opinion of the Companions of the Prophet image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) was based on the information contained in the Ahadith which have been mentioned in earlier mails. They did not take the Ahadith which interpreted the leaving of Salat as Kufr mere scolding or reproof. They considered slackness and negligence in Salat as Kufr and apostasy and regarded Salat a symbol of Islam.
