[54] Surah Al-Qamar [The Moon]: Ayat 051-052

Ayat 51. And indeed, We have destroyed your likes, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)?
Ayat 52. And each and everything they have done is noted in (their) Records (of deeds).

Tafseer of Surah Al-Qamar (The Moon) Ayat 51 & 52. And (oft) in the past, have We destroyed gangs like unto you: then is there any that will receive admonition? Ashya 'akum: 'gangs or parties or collection of men like you'—addressed to wicked men who arrogantly rely upon their own strength or combination, neither of which can stand for a moment against the Will of Allah. 5166 The cases of Pharaoh's men of old and the Pagan Quraysh are considered as parallel, and an appeal is addressed to the latter from the experience of the former: 'will ye not learn and repent?' 52. All that they do is noted in (their) Books (of Deeds) The point is that nothing which men do is lost—good or evil. Everything gives rise to an inevitable chain of consequences, from which a release is only obtained by the intervention of Allah's Grace acting on an act, a striving of the human will to repent and turn to Allah.

Hazrat Ibn Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) said: The Messenger of Allah cid:image004.gif@01D2015A.056BA1F0[SAWW](PBUH) said, "If Allah afflicts punishment upon a nation, it befalls the whole population indiscriminately and then they will be resurrected and judged according to their deeds.''  [Al-Bukhari Book 09, Chapter 88, Hadith # 224]

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Al-Qamar Ayat 51. And indeed, We have destroyed your likes, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)?" When Allah's punishment comes to pass, it does not distinguish between the upright and the wicked. However, the pious people will be saved from punishment after their death while the wicked ones will be punished in the Hell. May Allah save us from all types of punishments.

[54] Surah Al-Qamar [The Moon]: Ayat 049-050

Ayat 49.  Verily, We have created all things with Qadar (Divine Preordainments of all things before their creation, as written in the Book of Decrees Al-Lauh Al-Mahfouz).
Ayat 50. And Our Commandment is but one, as the twinkling of an eye.

Tafseer of Surah Al-Qamar (The Moon) Ayat 49 & 50. Verily, all things have We created in proportion and measure. Allah's Creation is not haphazard. Everything goes by law, proportion, and measure. Everything has its appointed time, place, and occasion, as also its definite limitation. Nothing happens but according to His Plan, and every deed, word, and thought of man has its fullest consequences, except insofar as the Grace and Mercy of Allah intervenes, and that is according to law and plan. (Cf. 2:117). 50. And Our Command is but a single (Act), like the twinkling of an eye. While in the life of created things there is "proportion and measure", and a lag of time or distance or circumstance, in Allah's Command, the Design, the Word, the Execution, and the Consequences are but a single Act. The simile given is that of the twinkling of an eye, which is the shortest time that a simple man can think of: the cause which occasions the twinkling, the movement of the muscles connected with it, the closing of the eyelids, and their reopening, are all almost like a simultaneous act. By way of contrast take an illustration like that of a man writing a book. He must form the design in his mind; he must prepare himself by research, collection of knowledge, or of personal experience: he must use or acquire the art of writing; he must collect the material for writing, viz., paper, ink, pen, etc., and this will connect with a chain of manufacturing processes in which he is dependent upon other people's work and experience; then his book may have to be printed or lithographed or bound, and sold, or taken to a library, or presented to a friend, which will bring into play numerous other chains of processes, and dependence upon other people's work or skill; arid the lag of Time, Space, and Circumstance will occur at numerous stages. In Allah's Command, the word "Be" (kun) includes everything, without the intervention, of or dependence upon any other being or thing whatever. And this is also another phase of the philosophy of Unity.

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allahimage001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) said,  There is none born but is created to his true nature (Islam). It is his parents who make him a Jew or a Christian (or a Polytheist) or a Magian quite as beasts produce their young with their limbs perfect. Do you see anything deficient in them? Then he quoted the Quran, The nature made by Allah in which He has created men there is no altering of Allah's creation; that is the right religion"  [Muslim Book 03, Chapter 33, Hadith # 6423].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Al-Qamar Ayat 49.  Verily, We have created all things with QadarThis Hadith brings out the following point: Only Allah has a power to guide any to the true path the right path is Knowledge and understanding of Deen (religion) here stands for the understanding of the Qur'an and Hadith, religious injunctions, and knowledge of the lawful and the unlawful.

[54] Surah Al-Qamar [The Moon]: Ayat 047-048

Ayat 47. Verily, the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.) are in error (in this world) and will burn (in the Hell-fire in the Hereafter).
Ayat 48. The Day they will be dragged in the Fire on their faces (it will be said to them): "Taste you the touch of Hell!"

Tafseer of Surah Al-Qamar (The Moon) Ayat 47. Truly those in sin are the ones straying in mind, and mad. Cf. 54:24 above. Note how the tables are turned in the argument by the repetition. The unjust think that the godly are wandering in mind and mad. They will find that it is really they who were wandering in mind, and mad, even when they were in the plenitude of their power and in the enjoyment of all the good things of this life. These minor echoes heighten the effect of the major refrain mentioned in the Introduction. 48. The Day they will be dragged through the Fire on their faces, (they will hear) "Taste ye the touch of Hell!" On their faces: the Face is the symbol of Personality. Their whole Personality will be subverted and degraded in the midst of the Fire of Suffering.

Hazrat Samurah bin Jundub (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) said, "Among the people of Hell are there those who will be emersed in fire to their ankles, some to their knees, some to their waists, and some to their throats".
[Muslim Book 040, Chapter 12, Hadith # 6815].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Al-Qamar Ayat 47. Verily, the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.) are in error (in this world) and will burn (in the Hell-fire in the Hereafter)This Hadith tells us that the inhabitants of Jannah will be classified into different categories and enjoy different kinds of luxuries according to their merits. A similar classification will also be made in the inhabitants of Hell and they will suffer torments according to their misdeeds.

[54] Surah Al-Qamar [The Moon]: Ayat 043-046

Ayat 43. Are your disbelievers (O Quraish!) better than these [nations of Nuh (Noah), Lout (Lot), Salih (Saleh), and the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh), etc., who were destroyed)? Or have you an immunity (against Our Torment) in the Divine Scriptures?
Ayat 44. Or do they say: "We are a great multitude, and we shall be victorious?"
Ayat 45. Their multitude will be put to flight, and they will show their backs.
Ayat 46. Nay, but the Hour is their appointed time (for their full recompense), and the Hour will be more grievous and more bitter.

Tafseer of Surah Al-Qamar (The Moon) Ayat 43 to 46. Are your Unbelievers, (O Quraish), better than they? Or have ye an immunity in the Sacred Books? If the Egyptians with all their power and science were unable to resist the punishment of their sins, the Pagan Quraysh are asked: how will you fare when you come to a trial of strength against Allah's Truth? You are not specially favored so as to be immune from Allah's Law. And if you rely on your numbers, they will be a broken reed when the trial comes, as indeed happened at the Battle of Badar. 44. Or do they say: "We acting together can defend ourselves"? 45. Soon will their multitude be put to flight, and they will show their backs. 46. Nay, the Hour (of Judgment) is the time promised them (for their full recompense): And that Hour will be most grievous and most bitter. The calculations of unjust men—on their science, their resources, their numbers, etc.—will in many cases be falsified even in this world, as stated in the last two verses, but their real Punishment will come with Judgment, i.e., when they find their real place in the spiritual world at the restoration of true values. It will then be a most grievous and bitter experience for them, throwing into the shade any calamities they may suffer in this life.

Hazrat Irbad bin Sariyah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: One day Messenger of Allah image001.jpg[SAWW](PBUH) delivered us a very eloquent Khutbah on account of which eyes shed tears and hearts were full of tears. A man said: "O Prophet of Allah, this is as if it were a parting advice. So advise us". He image001.jpg[SAWW](PBUH) said, "I admonish you to fear Allah, to listen and obey even if an Abyssinian slave is appointed as your leader. Because whosoever among you shall live after me, will see much discord. So hold fast to my Sunnah and the examples of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs who will come after me. Adhere to them and hold to it fast. Beware of new things (in Deen) because every Bid’ah is a misguidance".  [Abu Dawud Hadith # 4607 and At-Tirmidhi Hadith # 2676].

Lesson: This Hadith stresses piety, obedience to the leader, following in the footsteps of the Prophet image001.jpg[SAWW](PBUH) and the first four noble caliphs. It strictly forbids innovation in Deen. This Hadith also reveals the prediction of the Prophet [SAWW](PBUH) that the Muslim Ummah will become a victim of dissension. He also prescribed the right means to counteract it. The remedy that he has proposed for this problem is that Muslims should never deviate from the path laid for them by him and his righteous successors. This is the touchstone for discovering the truth from the mess of different views. All the troubles of Muslims would come to an end if they accept this as the one singular criterion of right and wrong.

[54] Surah Al-Qamar [The Moon]: Ayat 041-042

Ayat 41. And indeed, warnings came to the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) [through Musa (Moses) and Haroon (Aaron)].
Ayat 42. (They) belied all Our Signs, so We seized them with a Seizure of the All-Mighty, All-Capable to carry out what he Will (Omnipotent).

Tafseer of Surah Al-Qamar (The Moon) Ayat 41 & 42. To the People of Pharaoh, too, aforetime, came Warners (from Allah) The Egyptian people of old are the last people mentioned in this Surah as an example of iniquity meeting with punishment. And the moral is driven home to the Pagan Quraysh, to warn them of their fate if they persisted in their evil lives. The Egyptians had many Signs given them. They were gifted people and had made much progress in the sciences and the arts. They could have learnt from history that when the highest virtues disappear, the nation must fall. Moses was brought up among them and commissioned to give Allah's Message to them. But they were arrogant; they were unjust to Allah's creatures; they followed debasing forms of worship; they mocked at Truth; and were at last punished with destruction in the Red Sea for their arrogant leaders and army. See 10:75-90 for a narrative. 42. The (people) rejected all Our Signs; but We seized them with such Penalty (as comes) from One Exalted in Power, able to carry out His Will.

Hazrat Abu Musa (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) said, "Allah, the Exalted, will continue to stretch out His Hand in the night so that the sinners of the day may repent, and continue to stretch His Hand in the daytime so that the sinners of the night may repent, until the sun rises from the west".  [Muslim Book 05, Chapter 037, Hadith # 6644].

Lesson: This Hadith confirms an essential Attribute of Allah, i.e., the Hand which He stretches out anytime He wishes without drawing similarity to it, nor interpretation. Such was the attitude of the pious predecessors with regards to all of the essential Attributes of Allah. It is deduced from this Hadith that if one commits a sin during any hour of day or night, he should immediately seek the forgiveness of Allah as a result.

[54] Surah Al-Qamar [The Moon]: Ayat 040

Ayat 40. And indeed, We have made the Qur’an easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)?

Tafseer of Surah Al-Qamar (The Moon) Ayat 40. And We have indeed made the Qur´an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition?

Hazrat Al-Bara' bin `Azib (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: A man was reciting Surat Al-Kahf, and a horse was tied with two ropes beside him. As he was reciting, a cloud overshadowed him, and as it began to come nearer and nearer, the horse began to trample violently. The man came to the Messenger of Allah cid:image004.gif@01D1FD60.917E8250 [SAWW](PBUH) in the morning and mentioned the incident to him. The Messenger of Allah cid:image004.gif@01D1FD60.917E8250 [SAWW](PBUH) said, "That was tranquility which descended as a result of the recitation of the Qur'an.''  [Muslim Book 04, Chapter 127, Hadith # 1739].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Al-Qamar Ayat 40. And indeed, We have made the Qur’an easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)?" This Hadith brings out two points. Firstly, the excellence of Surat Al-Kahf (The Cave, No. 18). Secondly, the descending of tranquility from Allah on the pious persons. The appearance of a cloud for the tranquility of heart on the recitation of the Qur'an is a supernatural event (miracle) to which a pious man does not make any contribution. It entirely depends on the Will of Allah.

[54] Surah Al-Qamar [The Moon]: Ayat 038-039

Ayat 38. And verily, an abiding torment seized them early in the morning.
Ayat 39. "Then taste you My Torment and My Warnings."

Tafseer of Surah Al-Qamar (The Moon) Ayat 38. Early on the morrow an abiding Punishment of stone storm seized them: 39. "So taste ye My Wrath and My Warning."

Hazrat Khabbab bin Al-Aratt (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: We complained to the Messenger of Allah cid:image003.gif@01D1FCA5.E787DFE0 [SAWW](PBUH) regarding the persecution inflicted upon us by the disbelievers while he was lying in the shade of the Kabbah, having made a pillow of his cloak. We submitted: "Why do you not supplicate for our prevalence (over the opponents)?''. He cid:image003.gif@01D1FCA5.E787DFE0[SAWW](PBUH) replied, "Among those people before you, a man would be seized and held in a pit dug for him in the ground and he would be sawed into two halves from his head, and his flesh torn away from his bones with an iron comb; but, in spite of this, he would not wean away from his Faith. By Allah, Allah will bring this matter to its consummation until a rider will travel from Sana' (Yemen) to Hadramout fearing none except Allah, and except the wolf for his sheep, but you are in too much of a hurry".  [Al-Bukhari Book 04, Chapter 56, Hadith # 809]

Lesson: 1. Difficulties in the path of Faith do not come in any particular period. People devoted to their Deen have passed through trials and tribulations everywhere and in every age and have emerged purified as does the gold after passing through the furnace. So, it is unbecoming for a Muslim to be disturbed by hardships.
2. The glad tidings about domination of religion and peace and security were given in the early period of Islam which were subsequently witnessed by the people. Even now wherever Islam is practiced in true sense, peace and security are distinctive features of the system of that country.

[54] Surah Al-Qamar [The Moon]: Ayat 037

Ayat 37. And they indeed sought to shame his guest (by asking to commit sodomy with them). So We blinded their eyes, "Then taste you My Torment and My Warnings."

Tafseer of Surah Al-Qamar (The Moon) Ayat 37. And they even sought to snatch away his guests from him, but We blinded their eyes. (They heard:) "Now taste ye My Wrath and My Warning." Lot had been preaching to them some time against their iniquities. The crisis of their fate came when the two angels came to Lot in the guise of handsome young men. The men of the whole City came in an uproar, assaulted his house, and tried to snatch away the two handsome men. Lot tried to prevent them, but was powerless. Darkness fell on their eyes, as the first stage in their punishment, and before next morning the wicked cities were buried under a shower of brimstone. Lot and his believing household were saved.

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) narrated: Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "Allah does not look at your figures, nor at your attire but He looks at your hearts and accomplishments".  [Muslim Book 32, Chapter 08, Hadith # 6221].

Lesson : This Hadith highlights the importance of sincerity and good intention. It is, therefore, essential that every noble action should be based on these two virtues; and heart should be free from all such things that destroy noble deeds. Hypocrisy, ostentation, greed for wealth, riches and other worldly things fall in the category of such evils. Since the true condition of heart is known to Allah alone, the true position of one's actions will be known on the Day of Resurrection when one will be requited for them by Allah. In this world, one will be treated according to his apparent condition while his insight will be left to Allah.

[54] Surah Al-Qamar [The Moon]: Ayat 036

Ayat 36. And he [Lout PBUH (Lot)] indeed had warned them of Our Grasp, but they did doubt the warnings!

Tafseer of Surah Al-Qamar (The Moon) Ayat 36. And (Lut PBUH) did warn them of Our Punishment, but they disputed about the Warning Cf. 11:78-79.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr bin Al Aas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported that he heard Messenger of Allah image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) as saying: Verily, the hearts of all the sons of Adam are between the two fingers out of the fingers of the Compassionate Lord as one heart. He turns that to any (direction) He likes. Then Messenger of Allah image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) said: "0 Allah, the Turner of the hearts, turn our hearts to Thine obedience". [Muslim Book 33, Chapter 03, Hadith # 6418].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Al-Qamar Ayat 36. And he [Lout PBUH (Lot)] indeed had warned them of Our Grasp, but they did doubt the warnings! Obedience ( and Guidance) here means guidance at every turn of life and steadfastness on the path of truth. Fear of Allah is the greatest means of piety and strongest defense against sins.

[54] Surah Al-Qamar [The Moon]: Ayat 033-035

Ayat 33. The people of Lout (Lot) belied the warnings.
Ayat 34. Verily, We sent against them a violent storm of stones (which destroyed them all), except the family of Lout (Lot), whom We saved in last hour of the night,
Ayat 35. As a Favour from Us, thus do We reward him who gives thanks (by obeying Us).

Tafseer of Surah Al-Qamar (The Moon) Ayat 33. The people of Lut rejected (his) warning. The story of Lot PBUH (Lut) and the Cities of the Plain has been frequently referred to. See 11:74-83. 34. We sent against them a violent Tornado with showers of stones, (which destroyed them), except Lut´s household: them We delivered by early Dawn, Hasib: a violent tornado bringing a shower of stones. The word occurs here; in 17:68 (without reference to any particular place); in 29:40 (where it seems to refer to Lot’s Cities, see 67:17 (where again there is no reference to a particular place). In Lot’s Cities the shower was of brimstone: see 11:82. 35. As a Grace from Us: thus do We reward those who give thanks. "Giving thanks" to Allah in Quranic phrase is to obey Allah's Law, to do His Will, to practice righteousness, to use all gifts in His service.

Hazrat Abu Qatadah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah cid:image004.gif@01D1FA45.48A07DE0[SAWW](PBUH) said, "A good vision (dream) is from Allah and a bad dream is from the Satan. He who sees something in a dream that he dislikes, should blow thrice on his left, must seek Allah's Refuge from the evil of the Satan (i.e., by saying: A`udhu billahi minash-Shaitanir-Rajim). Then it will not harm him.''  [Al-Bukhari INTERPRETATION OF DREAMS, Chapter 87, Hadith # 124].

Lesson: As mention in the Hadith, there are good dreams and bad dreams. This Hadith shows us what to do in order to avoid the evil of Satan who cannot harm anyone except by Allah's leave.

[54] Surah Al-Qamar [The Moon]: Ayat 032

Ayat 32. And indeed, We have made the Qur’an easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)?

Tafseer of Surah Al-Qamar (The Moon) Ayat 32. And We have indeed made the Qur´an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? Every Muslim has the responsibility of learning Quran and teaching it to others. Teaching and conveying the message of Quran is responsibility of Muslims. If we truly believe that Quran is the sole guidance, than we must respect and honor it, read and recite it properly, understand it, implement it in our everyday life and teach it to others. Conveying and clarifying Quran is its right.

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) said, "He who does not memorize any part from the Qur'an he is likes the ruined house.''
[At-Tirmidhi Hadith # 2913]

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Al-Qamar Ayat 32. And indeed, We have made the Qur’an easy to understand” and in Surah Al-Ahzab Ayat 34. “Recited in your houses of the Verses of Allah and Al HikmahThis Hadith means that the heart of that Muslim is devoid of grace of spiritualism and Grace of Allah who does not remember by heart any portion of the Qur'an, in the same way as a deserted house is deprived of inhabitants and Blessings of Allah. What we learn from this is that every Muslim must remember some portion of the Qur'an so that he is safe from the admonition mentioned in this Hadith.

[54] Surah Al-Qamar [The Moon]: Ayat 026-031

Ayat 26. Tomorrow they will come to know, who is the liar, the insolent one!
Ayat 27. Verily, We are sending the she-camel as a test for them. So watch them [O Salih (Saleh)], and be patient!
Ayat 28. And inform them that the water is to be shared between (her and) them. Each one's right to drink being established (by turns).
Ayat 29. But they called their comrade and he took (a sword) and killed (her).
Ayat 30. Then, how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings?
Ayat 31. Verily, We sent against them a single Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.), and they became like the dry stubble of a fold-builder.

Tafseer of Surah Al-Qamar (The Moon) Ayat 26 to 31. Ah! they will know on the morrow, which is the liar, the insolent one! 27. For We will send the she-camel by way of trial for them. So watch them, (O Salih), and possess thyself in patience! for the she-camel as a trial or test among selfish people who tried to monopolies water and pasture as against the poor. 28. And tell them that the water is to be divided between them: Each one´s right to drink being brought forward (by suitable turns). See 26:155-156. All were to have water in due turn. It was to be no one's monopoly. And certainly the gates were not to be shut against the poor or their cattle. 29. But they called to their companion, and he took a sword in hand, and hamstrung (her). 30. Ah! how (terrible) was My Penalty and My Warning! 31. For We sent against them a single Mighty Blast, and they became like the dry stubble used by one who pens cattle. See 7:78, the same phrase "single Blast" used for the signal for the Resurrection in 36:53. In the case of Thamud, the destruction seems to have been by a severe earthquake accompanied with a terrible rumbling noise. 5152 They became like dry sticks such as are used by herdsmen in making pens or enclosures for their cattle.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Zam'ah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported that he heard the Messenger of Allah cid:image004.gif@01D1F7EB.19EC0B10 [SAWW](PBUH) giving a speech when he mentioned the she-camel (of Prophet Salih PBUH) and the man who had killed her. Messenger of Allah cid:image004.gif@01D1F7EB.19EC0B10 [SAWW](PBUH) said: "When the most wicked man among them went forth (to kill the she-camel).' (91:12) signifies that a distinguished, wicked and most powerful chief of the people jumped up to kill the she-camel. He was supported by his tribe (nation)''  [Muslim Book 40, Chapter 13, Hadith # 6837].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Al-Qamar Ayat 29. But they called their comrade and he took (a sword) and killed (her)" When entire nation in involve in sinful activities and there are very few pious people left than Allah sent down the signs of warning, and to make them afraid (of destruction).

[54] Surah Al-Qamar [The Moon]: Ayat 23-25

Ayat 23. Thamud (people also) belied the warnings.
Ayat 24. For they said: "A man! Alone from among us, that we are to follow? Truly, then we should be in error and distress or madness!"
Ayat 25. "Is it that the Reminder is sent to him [Prophet Salih PBUH (Saleh)] alone from among us? Nay, he is an insolent liar!"

Tafseer of Surah Al-Qamar (The Moon) Ayat 23 to 25. The Thamud (also) rejected (their) Warners. 24. For they said: "What! a man! a Solitary one from among ourselves! shall we follow such a one? Truly should we then be straying in mind, and mad! The psychology of Thamud is more searchingly analyzed here than in 41:17, to show up the contrast between shallow men's ideas about Revelation, and the real sanity, humanism, social value, and truth of Revelation. To them the Revelation was brought by Salih. Because the Preacher is one among so many, and different from them, although brought up among themselves , it is made a cause of reproach against him, when it should have been an index leading to a searching of their hearts and an examination of their ways. 25. "Is it that the Message is sent to him, of all people amongst us? Nay, he is a liar, an insolent one!" Pure abuse, as a contrast to Saleh’s expostulation!

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) was asked about the deed which will be foremost to lead a man to Jannah. He replied, "Fear of Allah and the good conduct.'' Then he was asked about indulgence which will admit a man to Hell (Fire) and he answered, "The tongue and the genitals.'' [At-Tirmidhi Hadith # 2004].

Lesson: This is also a very comprehensive Hadith. Fear of Allah really links up a man to Him, and moral refinement prevents him from falling short of his duties to people. To be sure, adherence to this two-fold practice will cause the entry of a lot of people to Jannah. Many a man, on the other hand, has a long, sharp and dangerous tongue and this causes him to pour out heretic utterances and indulge in backbiting, slandering and abusive and nonsensical talk. All this activity leads to Hell. As for genitals, an unwary and unrestrained attitude incites one to indulge in immoral pursuits. In both these cases countless people will be led into Hell. For this reason it is imperative for everybody to develop Taqwa (consciousness of Allah / fear of Allah) and refined behavior and shun the wickedness of tongue and genitals so that his life in the Hereafter may not be ruined.
