[26].Surah Ash-Shuara [The Poets]: Ayat 205-207

Ayat 205. Tell Me, if Allah do let them enjoy for years,
Ayat 206. And afterwards comes to them that (punishment) which they had been promised!
Ayat 207. All that with which they used to enjoy shall not avail them.

Tafseer of Ayat 205 to 207. Seest thou? If Allah do let them enjoy (this life) for a few years, Yet there comes to them at length the (Punishment) which they were promised! It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)! as mentiion in Surah Baqarah ayat 96. "Everyone of them wishes that he could be given a life of a thousand years. But the grant of such life will not save him even a little from (due) punishment.
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "Allah excuses and grants forgiveness to a person until he attains the age of sixty years".  [Al-Bukhari Book 06, Chapter 36, Hadith # 2614].

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Ash-Shuara Ayat 205."Allah do let them enjoy for yearsThis Hadith makes it evident that Allah does not punish any individual or nation without warning them first. The second point is that a person who is given sixty years of life and yet he neglects the obligations of Faith, will have no excuse. After the age of sixty years, one must not neglect his religious obligations because then one is closer to death. Although one may die even at a young age, in youth one is still hopeful of life. After crossing the age of sixty, to hope for longer age, while leading a sinful life and defying Divine injunctions constitute a disastrous conduct. May Allah save us from doing so.

[26].Surah Ash-Shuara [The Poets]: Ayat 200-204

Ayat 200. Thus have We caused it (the denial of the Qur'ân) to enter the hearts of the Mûjrimûn (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.).
Ayat 201. They will not believe in it until they see the painful torment;
Ayat 202. It shall come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not;
Ayat 203. Then they will say: "Can we be respited?"
Ayat 204. Would they then wish for Our Torment to be hastened on?

Tafseer of Ayat 200 to 204. Thus have We caused it to enter the hearts of the Sinners. "Thus" I think means through the medium of the Arabic language and the Arab people. The Qur'an penetrated through their language and their hearts. If the hardhearted among them did not believe, they will see when the Penalty comes, how grievous a mistake they made. For the Penalty must come; even when they least expected it. They will be caught saying or thinking, "There is plenty of time; we can get another respite," when already it will have become too late for them to turn over a new leaf. They will not believe in it until they see the grievous Penalty; But the (Penalty) will come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not; Then they will say: "Shall we be respited?" Do they then ask for Our Penalty to be hastened on? While some sinners out of negligence postpone the day of repentance till it is too late, others more bold actually ask out of bravado that Allah's Punishment should be brought down on them at once, as they do not believe in Allah or His Punishment! The answer to them is: It will come soon enough-too soon, they will think, when it comes!
Hazrat Ibn Umer (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) took hold of my shoulders and said, "Be in the world like a stranger or a wayfarer". Ibn `Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) used to say: "When you survive till the evening, do not expect to live until the morning; and when you survive until the morning, do not expect to live until the evening; (do good deeds) when you are in good health before you fall sick, and (do good deeds) as long as you are alive before death strikes".  [Al-Bukhari Book 08, Chapter 76, Hadith # 425].

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Ash-Shuara Ayat 202."It shall come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not" A person who will consider this world as a temporary stage, will certainly not like that his clothes be entangled in thorny bushes of this world. The greatest fault of man is that he does not understand this status of the world. In spite of the fact that he is not sure of a moment's life here, he occupies himself in amassing goods and riches which would last for a hundred years.

[26].Surah Ash-Shuara [The Poets]: Ayat 197-199

Ayat 197. Is it not a sign to them that the learned scholars (like Hazrat Abdullah bin Salam (RA) who embraced Islam) of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)?
Ayat 198. And if We had revealed it (this Qur'an) unto any of the non-Arabs,
Ayat 199. And he had recited it unto them, they would not have believed in it.

Tafseer of Ayat 197 to 199. Is it not a Sign to them that the Learned of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? Many of the Jewish learned scholars recognized the Prophet's SAWW PBUH Message as a Message from Allah, e.g., Hazrat Abdullah ibn Salam (RA) and Mukhayriq. The latter was a man of property, which he left for Islam. (There were also Christian monks and learned men who recognized the Prophet's PBUH mission.) Had We revealed it to any of the non-Arabs, And had he recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. The turn of Arabia having come for receiving Allah's Revelation, as was foretold in previous Revelations, it was inevitable that it should be in the Arab tongue through the mouth of an Arab. Otherwise it would have been unintelligible, and the Arabs could not have received the Faith and become the vehicles for its promulgation as actually happened in history.

Hazrat Aamir bin Sad bin Abi Waqqas narrated from his father Hazrat Saad bin Abi Waqqas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported & said, I have never heard the The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) saying about anybody walking on the earth that he is from the people of Paradise except Hazrat Abdullah bin Salam (May Allah be pleased with him). The following Verse was revealed in Surah Al-Ahqaf (Ayat 10) concerning him: " Say: "Tell me! If this (Qur'an) is from Allah, and you deny it, and a witness from among the Children of Israel (Abdullah bin Salam ) testifies that this Qur'an is from Allah [like the Taurat (Torah)], so he believed (embraced Islam) while you are too proud (to believe)." Verily! Allah guides not the people who are Zalimun (polytheists, disbelievers and wrong-doing). (46.10)  [Al-Bukhari Book 05, Chapter 58, Hadith # 157].

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Ash-Shuara Ayat 197."Is it not a sign to them that the learned scholars (like Abdullah bin Salam who embraced Islam) of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)?" This Hadith also highlights the merits of Ahlul-Kitab means the people of the Scriptures, that is the Jews and the Christians. This Hadith has an inducement for them that if they embrace Islam, they will be entitled to a reward.
