[43]. Surah Al Zukhruf (The Gold Adornments): Ayat 085

Ayat 85.  And blessed be He to Whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, and with Whom is the knowledge of the Hour, and to Whom you (all) will be returned.

Tafseer of Al Zukhruf (The Gold Adornments) Ayat 85. We glorify Allah, and we call His name blessed, because He has not only supreme power and authority, but because we shall return to Him and see "the Light of His Countenance" (30:38).

Hazrat Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "When one of you supplicates, let him be decisive and he should not say: `O Allah, bestow upon me such and such if You wish', because no one has the power to compel Him.'' [Al-Bukhari Book 08, Chapter 75, Hadith # 350].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Al Zukhruf Ayat 85.  And blessed be He to Whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them" One should pray to Allah will full confidence that He will answer his prayers. One should also persist in praying and never give in to despair.

[43]. Surah Al Zukhruf (The Gold Adornments): Ayat 084

Ayat 84. It is He (Allah) Who is the only Ilah (God to be worshipped) in the heaven and the only Ilah (God to be worshipped) on the earth. And He is the All-Wise, the All-Knower.

Tafseer of Al Zukhruf (The Gold Adornments) Ayat 84. It is He Who is Allah in heaven and Allah on earth; and He is full of Wisdom and Knowledge. His wisdom searches out motives far more subtle and delicate than any we are even aware of. He knows full well all things. "Sustenance", here as elsewhere, stands for all things that support every phase of life, physical, social, intellectual, or spiritual. Cf. 10:59. The source of all gifts is Allah; His bounty is inexhaustible, and He gives to all; but He does not give to all in the same measure, because, out of the fullness of His knowledge and wisdom, He can judge best what is best for any of His creatures.

Hazrat Umer bin Khattab (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard The Messenger of Allahimage001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) saying, "If you all depend on Allah with due reliance, He would certainly give you provision as He gives it to birds who go forth hungry in the morning and return with full belly at dusk".  [At-Tirmidhi Hadith # 2344].
Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Al Zukhruf Ayat 84. It is He (Allah) Who is the only Ilah (God to be worshipped) in the heaven” Trust in Allah does not mean that one should not give any importance to material resources. What it really means is that along with their due importance, one should have full trust in Allah. Without His Will, material resources are of no avail. But nevertheless it is necessary to have material resources because their procurement is also ordained by Him. Birds do not keep sitting in their nests for food but fly out in search of it.

[43]. Surah Al Zukhruf (The Gold Adornments): Ayat 083

Ayat 83. (O Muhammad image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH), So leave them (the disbelievers alone) to speak nonsense and play until they meet the Day of theirs  (Judgment), which they have been promised.

Tafseer of Al Zukhruf (The Gold Adornments) Ayat 83. That Day of theirs: they had their Day on earth; they will have a different sort of Day in the Hereafter, according to the promise of Allah about the Resurrection and Judgment, or perhaps about Retribution in this very life! So leave them to play about with their fancies and vanities. Truth must eventually prevail!

Hazrat Jabir (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "My parable and that of yours is like a man who kindled a fire. When it has illuminated all around him, the moths and grasshoppers began to fall therein. He tried to push them away, but they overcame him and jumped into it. I am catching hold of your waists ties (to save you) from fire, but you slip away from my hands".  [Muslim Book 030, Chapter 06, Hadith # 5672]

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Al Zukhruf Ayat 83. (O Muhammad image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH), So leave them (the disbelievers alone) to speak nonsense and play until they meet the Day of theirs  (Judgment)," This Hadith mentions the extreme kindness which the Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) had for the welfare of his followers. It also mentions the misfortune of those who would become the fuel of Hell for not accepting Islam in spite of the utmost affection and ardor of the Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) to bring them in the fold of Islam. People who fail to accept Islam would fall in the Hell-fire in the same way moths fall in the fire.

[43]. Surah Al Zukhruf (The Gold Adornments); Ayat 081-082

Ayat 81. Say (O Muhammad image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH): "If the Most Beneficent (Allah) had a son (or children as you pretend), then I am the first of Allah’s worshippers [who deny and refute this claim of yours (and the first to believe in Allah Alone and testify that He has no children)]."
Ayat 82. Glorified be the Lord of the heavens and the earth, the Lord of the Throne! Exalted be He is free from all that they ascribe (to Him).

Tafseer of Al Zukhruf (The Gold Adornments) Ayat 81 and 82. The prophet of Allah PBUH does not object to true worship in any form. But it must be true: it must not superstitiously attribute derogatory things to Allah, or foster false ideas. 82. Glory to the Lord of the heavens and the earth, the Lord of the Throne (of Authority)! (He is free) from the things they attribute (to him)! Cf. 7:54. All Power, Authority, Knowledge, and Truth are with Allah. He neither begets nor is begotten. Glory to Him!

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allahimage001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) said,  “Keep away from the seven fatalities” It was asked: "What are they, O Messenger of Allah?'' He image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) replied, "Associating anything with Allah in worship (i.e., committing an act of Shirk), sorcery, killing of one whom Allah has declared inviolable without a just cause, devouring the property of an orphan, the eating of usury (Riba), fleeing from the battlefield and accusing chaste believing women, who never even think of anything touching their chastity.''
[Al-Bukhari Book 04, Chapter 51, Hadith # 028]

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Al Zukhruf Ayat 82. “He is free from all that they ascribe (to Him)” All the sins mentioned in the Hadith are major sins but Shirk is the greatest of all. The reason behind this is that it will never be pardoned, and one who commits it, will abide in Hell for all eternity. So far as the other major sins are concerned with Allah, He may forgive them if He so wills; otherwise one who is guilty of such sins will have to suffer the torments of Hell. He will, however, be sent to Jannah after suffering the punishment if he is a Muslim.

[43]. Surah Al Zukhruf (The Gold Adornments): Ayat 080

Ayat 80. Or do they (disbelievers) think that Allah hear not their secrets and their private counsel? (Yes Allah do) and Allah’s Messengers (appointed angels in charge of mankind) are by them, to record.

Tafseer of Al Zukhruf (The Gold Adornments) Ayat 80. However secretly men may plot, everything is known to Allah. His recording Angels are by, at all times and in all places, to prepare a Record of their Deeds for their own conviction when the time comes for Judgment day (Cf. 45:29).

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) recited, "That Day it (the earth) will reveal its news (about all that happened over it of good or evil).'' (99:4). Then he [SAWW](PBUH) inquired, "Do you know what its news are?'' He was told: "Allah and His Messenger know better". He [SAWW](PBUH) said, "Its news is that it shall bear witness against every man and woman what they did on its back. It will say: `You did this and this on such and such day.' Those will be its news.''  [At-Tirmidhi Hadith # 2429]

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Al Zukhruf Ayat 80. Allah’s Messengers (appointed angels in charge of mankind) are by them, to record. It has stern warning for people that however they may try to hide their sins from others, they will not be able to save themselves from Allah and His system of accountability. This Hadith makes evident the perfect Omnipotence of Allah by telling us that He will bestow power of speech on the earth and it will bear witness to the acts committed on its surface. It’s very easy for us the modern human to understand with technology at its peak, as Hadith says `"You did this and this on such and such day". Recording of each action via CCTV and other source of surveillance Camera recording, each and every move made by us, the earth bear witness against us It will say: `You did this and this on such and such day.

[43]. Surah Al Zukhruf (The Gold Adornments): Ayat 079

Ayat 79. Or have they (dwellers of Hell) plotted some plan? Then Allah too are planning.

Tafseer of Al Zukhruf (The Gold Adornments) Ayat 79. What! have they (dwellers of Hell) settled some plan (among themselves)? But it is Allah Who settle things. Men cannot settle the high affairs of the universe. If they plot against the Truth, the Truth will destroy them, just as, if they accept the Truth, the Truth will make them free. It is Allah Who disposes of affairs.

Hazrat Shaddad bin Aus (May Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah image001.jpg[SAWW](PBUH) said, "The best supplication for seeking forgiveness (Syed-ul-Istighfar) is to say: `Allahumma Anta Rabbi, la ilaha illa Anta, khalaqtani wa ana `abduka, wa ana `ala `ahdika wa wa`dika mastata'tu, A’udhu bika min sharri ma sanatu, abu'u laka bini`matika `alayya, wa abu'u bidhanbi faghfir li, fa innahu la yaghfirudh-dhunuba illa Anta. (O Allah! You are my Rubb. There is no true god except You. You have created me, and I am Your slave, and I hold to Your Covenant as far as I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge the favors that You have bestowed upon me, and I confess my sins. Pardon me, for none but You has the power to pardon).' He who supplicates in these terms during the day with firm belief in it and dies on the same day (before the evening), he will be one of the dwellers of Jannah; and if anyone supplicates in these terms during the night with firm belief in it and dies before the morning, he will be one of the dwellers of Jannah.'' [Al-Bukhari Book 08, Chapter 75, Hadith # 318].

[43]. Surah Al Zukhruf (The Gold Adornments): Ayat 077-078

Ayat 77. And they (dwellers of Hell) will cry: "O Malik (Keeper of Hell)! Let your Lord make an end of us." He will say: "Verily you shall abide forever."
Ayat 78. Indeed We have brought the truth (Muhammad image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) with the Qur’an), to you, but most of you have a hatred for the truth.

Tafseer of Al Zukhruf (The Gold Adornments) Ayat 77. Malik: one who is in charge; applied to the Angel in charge of Hell. Cf. 20:74. Annihilation is better than agony. But wrongdoers cannot destroy the "fruits" of their actions, by asking for annihilation. Ayat We come back now to the Present-primarily to the time when Islam was being preached in Makkah, but by analogy the present time or any time. Truth is often bitter to the taste of those who live on Falsehoods and Shams and profit by them. They hate the Truth, and plot against it. But will they succeed?

Hazrat Abu Barzah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) said, "Man's feet will not move on the Day of Resurrection before he is asked about his life, how did he consume it, his knowledge, what did he do with it, his wealth, how did he earned it, and how did he dispose of it, and about his body, how did he wear it out.''
[At-Tirmidhi Hadith # 2417].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Al Zukhruf Ayat 78. Indeed We have brought the truth (Muhammad image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) with the Qur’an), to you, but most of you have a hatred for the truth1. This Hadith first of all highlights the importance and value of this transitory life, every breath of which is invaluable. Not a moment of it should, therefore, be wasted in the disobedience of Allah because one shall also be made to account for it.
2. Man shall also be answerable for his knowledge. Here, we find an inducement for acquiring religious knowledge because that alone is beneficial for him. He should make use of his knowledge for winning the pleasure of Allah. If he does not do that then he must think about the justification for not doing so. He must also think how he would be facing Allah on the Day of Resurrection.
3. The question in respect of wealth raised in this Hadith clearly shows that one should earn wealth by legitimate means only and spend it strictly in a lawful manner. If he takes to unfair means of income or squanders it, he will be sinful and required to account for the violation of the Divine injunctions.
4. One should protect his body from everything that is unlawful and force himself to submit to the Divine injunctions. When he is asked to account for neglecting them, it will be difficult for him to escape the consequences of accountability.
In short, this Hadith makes one conscious of the accountability so that one keeps it all the time in view so that he will be saved from humiliation on the Day of Resurrection. How nice would it really be if one bears the accountability of the Day of Resurrection always in mind!
