[26].Surah Ash-Shuara [The Poets]: Ayat 181-183

Ayat 181. "Give full measure, and cause no loss (to others).
Ayat 182. "And weigh with the true and straight balance.
Ayat 183. "And defraud not people by reducing their things, nor do evil, making corruption and mischief in the land.

Tafseer of Ayat 181 to 183. "Give just measure, and cause no loss (to others by fraud). They were a commercial people, but they were given to fraud, injustice, and wrongful mischief (by intermeddling with others). They are asked to fear Allah and follow His ways: it is He Who also created their predecessors among mankind, who never prospered by fraud and violent wrongdoing, but only justice and fair dealing. "And weigh with scales true and upright. "And withhold not things justly due to men, nor do evil in the land, working mischief.

Hazrat Umar bin Al-Khattab  (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "The deceased is tortured in his grave for bewailing over him.''  [Al-Bukhari Book 02,Chapter 23, Hadith # 379]

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Ash-Shuara Ayat 183."or do evil, making corruption and mischief in the land" "Bewailing'' is wailing over the dead. It is weeping loudly for the deceased describing his noble qualities or the problems created by his death. Wailing causes trouble to the deceased if he willed his heirs to do so, or in his own life he behaved in the same manner and his family members were following his style of mourning at his death. But if the deceased had forbidden his relatives from wailing over his death and they do it despite his warning against doing so, then the deceased will not suffer any torment on their wailing because his intention and training have no connection with it. The Qur'anic injunction in this matter is absolutely clear: "No one laden with burdens can bear another's burden.'' (17:15).

[26].Surah Ash-Shuara [The Poets]: Ayat 176-180

Ayat 176. The dwellers of Al-Aiyka [near Madyan (Midian)] belied the Messengers.
Ayat 177. When Shuaib PBUH (Shuaib) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah (and obey Him)?
Ayat 178. "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you.
Ayat 179. "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me.
Ayat 180. "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists).

Tafseer of Ayat 176 to 180. The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers of Allah. Behold, Shuaib PBUH said to them: "Will ye not fear ((Allah))? and cheat, loot and kill innocent passerby if do not give up soon torment will hit you, trust me "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. "So fear Allah and obey me. "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds.

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) observed Saum (fasting) on the day of `Ashura' 10th of Muharam and commanded us to fast on this day. [Al-Bukhari & Muslim]

Lesson : Ashura' 10th of Muharram. In another Hadith, it is stated that when the Prophet  (PBUH) emigrated from Makkah to Al-Madinah, he saw that the Jews were fasting on this day. He asked them why they did this on that day, and they told him that they did it for the reason that Allah granted Prophet Musa emancipation from Pharaoh on this day, and so they observed Saum in token of their joy. On this, he  (PBUH) said that in this happiness of Prophet Musa, Muslims have a greater right to observe Saum than the Jews. Consequently, he also observed Saum on 10th of Muharram. Then, he said that if he lived the following year, he would observe Saum on 9th of Muharram also so that they would make themselves different from the Jews. According to another Hadith, he  (PBUH) ordained the Muslims to observe Saum on `Ashura' and in addition one more Saum on 9th or 11th of Muharram in opposition to the Jews.

[26].Surah Ash-Shuara [The Poets]: Ayat 170-175

Ayat 170. So Allah saved him and his family, all,
Ayat 171. Except an old woman (Lut's PBUH wife) among those who remained behind.
Ayat 172. Then afterward Allah destroyed the others.
Ayat 173. And Allah rained on them a rain (of torment). And how evil was the rain of those who had been warned.
Ayat 174. Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers.
Ayat 175. And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful.

Tafseer of Ayat 170 to 175. So Allah delivered Lut PBUH and all his family members protection against his own people whow wish to harm them and torment, Except an old woman who lingered behind as she us to support the evil act of nation. This was Lut's PBUH wife, who lingered behind and was among those who perished. All the rest Allah destroyed utterly and rained down on them a shower (of marked brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)!. Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might Most Merciful.

Hazrat Ibn Umer (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) and his Companions reached Al-Hijr, the dwellings of the Thamud people, he admonished his Companions (saying), "Do not pass by these people who are being tormented, without weeping, lest the punishment should befall you as it had befallen them.''  [Al-Bukhari Book 04, Chapter 55, Hadith # 564].

Another narration is: Hazrat Ibn Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) said: When the Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) passed near Al-Hijr, he said, "Do not enter without weeping, the dwellings of those who wronged themselves, lest the same chastisement should fall upon you as it had fallen upon them.'' Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) then covered his head and sped up until he crossed the valley of the tormented people.

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Ash-Shuara Ayat 173."Allah rained on them a rain (of torment). And how evil was the rain of those who had been warned" This Hadith is related to the address which he gave to his Companions on the occasion. Here is an instruction that when we happen to pass through the territory of a nation destroyed in the past as a result of Divine wrath, we are advised to quicken one's pace. That is why we have been commanded to avoid the company of the corrupt and the wrongdoers, lest we meet their bad end, too. As the Qur'an says: "And incline not toward those who do wrong, lest the Fire should touch you.'' (11:113) May Allah save us from it!
