[43]. Surah Al Zukhruf (The Gold Adornments): Ayat 049-050

Ayat 49. And they (nation of Firaun’s said [to Musa PBUH (Moses)]: "O you sorcerer! Invoke your Lord for us according to what He has covenanted with you. Verily, Allah shall guide ourselves (aright)."
Ayat 50. But when Allah removed the torment from them, behold! They broke their covenant (that they will believe if Allah remove the torment for them).

Tafseer of Al Zukhruf (The Gold Adornments) Ayat 49 and 50. This speech is half a mockery, and half a ruse. In spite of their unbelief, they had fear in their minds, and in order to stop the plagues, one after another, they promised to obey Allah, and when the particular plague was removed, they again became obdurate. See 7:133-135. Ayat 50. But when Allah removed the Penalty from them, behold, they broke their word.

Hazrat Sahl bin Saad As-Saaidi (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: A man came to the Prophet [SAWW](PBUH) and said, "O Messenger of Allah [SAWW], guide me to such an action which, if I do Allah will love me and the people will also love me.'' He [SAWW]((PBUH) said, "Have no desire for this world, Allah will love you; and have no desire for what people possess, and the people will love you.'' [Ibn Majah Hadith Number 4102]

Lesson : This Hadith "Zuhd'' (ascetism) does not mean renunciation of the world and obligations of life. What it really means is that one should be contented with what he possess and rid himself of greed. Islam neither permits renunciation of the world nor does it condemn genuine struggle to acquire wealth and riches. Therefore, involvement in worldly affairs and struggle for lawful means of livelihood are not against Zuhd''. A person who is contented with the lawful means of income is a distinguished person as all his activities are exalted to the level of worship. Similarly, unconcern with the wealth and riches of others and ignoring them is a part of Zuhd and contentment. One additional advantage of it is that such a person wins the love and respect of the people because he who begs people, rather than Allah, has to suffer disgrace and is disliked by the people. The case of begging from Allah is just the opposite. The more a person begs Him, the more pleased He will be with him. In fact, He is displeased if someone does not beg Him. This has been exquisitely stated in an Arabic verse, the meaning of which is: "Do not stretch your hands before anyone for your needs, but beg from Him (Allah) whose door is always open". "If a person does not beg Him (Allah), He is displeased, while if one begs someone He becomes furious".

[43]. Surah Al Zukhruf (The Gold Adornments): Ayat 048

Ayat 48. And not an Ayah (sign, etc.) Allah showed them (the Fir’aun and his nation via Musa PBUH) but it was greater than its fellow, and Allah seized them with torment, in order that they might turn [from their polytheism to Allah’s Religion (Islamic Monotheism)].
Tafseer of Al Zukhruf (The Gold Adornments) Ayat 48. Moses PBUH showed them nine Clear Signs: see reference 7:133; also 17:101. Each one of them in its own setting and circumstances was greater than any of its "sister" Signs. The object was if possible to reclaim as many Egyptians as possible from their defiance of Allah.

Hazrat Abu Dharr and Mu`adh bin Jabal (May Allah be pleased with them) reported that: Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "Fear Allah wherever you are, do good deeds after doing bad ones, the former will wipe out the latter, and behave decently towards people"
[At-Tirmidhi Hadith # 1987].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Al Zukhruf Ayat 48. “Allah seized them with torment, in order that they might turn [from their polytheism to Allah’s Religion (Islamic Monotheism)]" Virtue obliterates vice means that virtue becomes an atonement for sin. But this applies to minor sins only because major ones will not be forgiven without sincere repentance. Similar is the case of encroachment on public rights which will not be forgiven without their compensation.

[43]. Surah Al Zukhruf (The Gold Adornments): Ayat 046-047

Ayat 46. And indeed Allah did send Musa PBUH (Moses) with Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his chiefs (inviting them to Allah’s Religion of Islam) He said: "Verily, I am a Messenger of the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)."
Ayat 47. But when he came to them with Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) behold! They laughed at them.

Tafseer of Al Zukhruf (The Gold Adornments) Ayat 46. We did send Moses aforetime, with Our Signs, to Pharaoh and his Chiefs: He said, "I am a messenger of the Lord of the Worlds." For the story of Moses PBUH in detail, see 7:103-137, but especially 7:104, 130-136. Ayat 47. But when he came to them with Our Signs, behold they ridiculed them. For the mockery of Moses and his Signs see 17:101; also below, 43:49, 52-53.

Hazrat Abu Said Al-Khudri (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) said, "The best type of Jihad (striving in the way of Allah) is speaking a true word in the presence of a tyrant ruler.''  [Abu Dawud Hadith # 4344 and At-Tirmidhi Hadith # 2174].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Al Zukhruf Ayat 46. And indeed Allah did send Musa PBUH (Moses) with Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his chiefs (inviting them to Allah’s Religion of Islam) He said: "Verily, I am a Messenger of the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists).” Jihad has many degrees. Preaching of virtue is also Jihad. The most meritorious of all is the effort of communicating the Message of Allah to an unjust ruler. Similarly, if a society is so much given to a vice that no one can dare to utter a word against it, then to protest against it can also be reckoned as the best Jihad.

[43]. Surah Al Zukhruf (The Gold Adornments): Ayat 044-045

Ayat 44. And verily, this (the Qur’an) is indeed a Reminder for you (O Muhammad image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) and your people (Quraish people, or your followers), and you will be questioned (about it).
Ayat 45. And ask (O Muhammad image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) those of Our Messengers whom Allah sent before you: "Did We ever appoint aliha (gods) to be worshipped besides the Most Beneficent (Allah)?"

Tafseer of Al Zukhruf (The Gold Adornments) Ayat 44 to 45. The (Qur´an) is indeed the message, for thee and for thy people; and soon shall ye (all) be brought to account. Dhikr. Message, Remembrance, Cause of remembrance, Memorial, Title for remembrance to posterity. Thus two meanings emerge, not necessarily mutually exclusive. (1) The Quran brings a Message of Truth and Guidance to the Prophet, and his people; (2) the Revelation of the Qur'an raises the rank of the Prophet, and the people among whom, and in whose language, it was promulgated, making them worthy of remembrance in the world's history for all time. But the honor also carried its responsibilities. All who hear it must give an account of how far they profit by it spiritually. Ayat 45. And question thou our messengers whom Allah sent before thee; did Allah appoint any deities other than ((Allah)) Most Gracious, to be worshipped? That is, by examining their Message, and asking the learned among their real followers. It will be found that no Religion really teaches the worship of other than Allah.

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: When this Verse was revealed: "And warn your tribe (O Muhammad image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) of near kindred". (26:214) Messenger of Allah image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) called the Quraysh; when they gathered, he said to them: "O sons of `Abd Shams; O sons of Kaab bin Lu'ai, rescue yourselves from the Fire! O sons of Murrah bin Kaab, rescue yourselves from the Fire! O sons of `Abd Manaf, rescue yourselves from the Fire! O sons of `Abdul-Muttalib, rescue yourselves from the Fire! O Fatimah, rescue yourself from the Fire, for I have no power (to protect you) from Allah in anything except that I would sustain relationship with you". [Muslim Book 01, Chapter 87, Hadith # 399].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Al Zukhruf Ayat 44. And verily, this (the Qur’an) is indeed a Reminder for you (O Muhammad image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) and your people (Quraish people, or your followers), and you will be questioned (about it).1. This Hadith tells us that lineage in the Hereafter will not help anybody. So much so that even one's relationship with Messenger of Allah (PBUH) shall not carry any weight on that day. The only thing that will then help in salvation will be one's good deeds. People for whom the Prophet (PBUH) and pious men will intercede will be believers with some sins in their account and not the disbelievers devoid of Faith and good actions. Neither will anybody intercede for the infidels, nor will the infidels find salvation. 2. In preaching religion, priority must be given to one's own close relatives. They deserve it more than anyone else, and for this reason Divine injunctions should be first of all conveyed to them. 3. Even if a Muslim's relatives are pagans and polytheists, their rights of kinsmen and the demands of "maintaining the ties of kinship'' enjoined by Islam must be fulfilled. The first and foremost demand of their rights is that they should be invited to the right path so that they will be saved from Hell-fire.
