[17].Surah Al-Isra' [The Journey By Night]: Ayat 19-20

also known as Surah Bani Israel [The Children of Israel]
Ayat 19. And whoever desires the Hereafter and strives for it, with the necessary effort due for it (i.e. do righteous deeds of Allah's Obedience) while he is a believer (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), then such are the ones whose striving shall be appreciated, thanked and rewarded (by Allah).
Ayat 20. To each these as well as those We bestow from the Bounties of your Lord. And the Bounties of your Lord can never be forbidden.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas`ud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said: "Do not crave for property lest you should be absorbed in the desire of worldly life.''  [At-Tirmidhi Hadith # 2328

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Al-Isra Ayat 19. "whoever desires the Hereafter and strives for it", The word "Dai`ah'' translated here as "property'' means land, industry, agriculture or business. One should not be so engrossed in them to the extent that, they become the sole purpose of one's life and all one's efforts are exhausted to acquire them, thus forgetting all about the Hereafter. To the extent of one's genuine needs and self-sufficiency, making and maintaining of property, land, industry, agriculture and commerce come in permissible acts. None of them is forbidden provided the means employed for making and maintaining them are fair and do not distract one's attention from Allah and the Hereafter.
