০১. হে নবী! আল্লাহকে ভয় করুন এবং কাফের ও কপট বিশ্বাসীদের কথা মানবেন না। নিশ্চয় আল্লাহ সর্বজ্ঞ, প্রজ্ঞাময়।
Ayat 1. O Prophet (Muhammad [SAWW](PBUH)! Keep your duty to Allah (by spreading message of Quran), and hearken not to the disbelievers and the hypocrites (i.e., do not follow their advices). Verily! Allah is Ever All Knower, All Wise.
Tafseer of Surah Al Ahzab (The Confederates) Ayat 01. O Prophet [SAWW](PBUH)! Fear Allah, and hearken not to the Unbelievers and the Hypocrites: verily Allah is full of Knowledge and Wisdom. The fifth year A.H. was a critical year in the external history of early Islam, and this Surah must be read in the light of the events that then took place. As explained in the Introduction, the Grand Confederacy against Islam came and invested Madinah and failed utterly. It consisted of the Makkan Unbelievers, the desert Arabs of Central Arabia, the Jews previously expelled for treachery from Madinah, the Jews remaining in Madinah, and the Hypocrites led by 'Abdullah Ibn Ubayy, who have already been described in 9:43-110. Their bond of union was the common hatred of Islam and it snapped under the reverses they met. It is important to note three points. (1) The Jews as a body now lost their last chance of bearing the standard of Islam: the best of them had already accepted the renewal of Allah's Message. (2) A definite status was given to the Prophet's [SAWW](PBUH) household, after the slanders on Hazrat Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) had been stilled (24:11-26), and the true position of the Mothers of the Believers had been cleared. (3) A further exposition of the purity of relations was given, based on the story of Zaynab, the "Mother of the Poor". These points will be referred to in later notes.
Hazrat Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) used to supplicate (in these words): "Allahumma inni A’udhu bika min sharri ma `amiltu, wa min sharri ma lam a`mal (O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the evil of that which I have done and the evil of that which I have not done).''
[Muslim Book 35, Chapter 17, Hadith # 6558]
Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Al-Ahzab Ayat 01. “Keep your duty to Allah (by spreading message of Quran), and hearken not to the disbelievers and the hypocrites” This prayer is also very comprehensive. Sometimes a person does a virtuous deed but it is tainted with slight hypocrisy or pride. It is an element which destroys even the most virtuous deeds. It is this mischief against which Allah's Protection has been sought through this prayer.
