[34].Surah Saba [Sheba]: Ayat 09

Ayat 9. (Those who disbelieve) See they not what is before them and what is behind them, of the heaven and the earth? If Allah will, Allah shall sink the earth with them, or cause a piece of the heaven to fall upon them. Verily, in (Quran) this is a sign for every faithful believer that [believes in the Oneness of Allah], and turns to Allah (in all affairs with humility and in repentance).

Tafseer of Surah Saba' (Sheba) Ayat 9. See they not what is before them and behind them, of the sky and the earth? If Allah wished, He could cause the earth to swallow them up, or cause a piece of the sky to fall upon them. Verily in this is a Sign for every devotee that turns to Allah (in repentance). The men who walk in spiritual darkness and laugh at a Hereafter have but to observe the Power of Allah in the nature around them. He Who created the heavens and the earth and sustains them can surely make a new Creation! And the cosmic Laws which are so just and inevitable should surely give them an idea of the inexorable Justice that must redress all balance. Cf. 16:45. Who are these puny creatures—skeptics that question the might and majesty of Allah? Cf. 26:187, this was actually a challenge hurled at Shuaib and a shower of ashes and cinders came from above and overwhelmed the challengers!

Hazrat Umar bin Al-Khattab (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) said, "Verily, Allah elevates some people with this Qur'an and abases others.'' [Muslim Book 04, Chapter 138, Hadith # 1780]

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Saba Ayat 09. “Verily, in (Quran) this is a sign for every faithful believer that [believes in the Oneness of Allah], and turns to Allah (in all affairs with humility and in repentance)” Only such people will be elevated who act upon the teachings of the Qur'an and abstain from what is forbidden by Allah. The Muslims of the early centuries of Islam were blessed with great honour by Allah because they loved and applied the Qur'an. Because of this meaningful attachment with the Qur'an, they made great achievements in religious and worldly spheres. Those who neglected the teachings of Islam will be disgraced and humiliated. May Allah guide and enable us to re-establish our contact with the Qur'an so that we can regain our past glory. Exaltation and humiliation mentioned in the Hadith is bound to happen in both this life and the Hereafter.
