Ayat 7. "We have not heard (the like) of this among the people of these later days. This is nothing but an invention!
Ayat 8. "Has the Reminder been sent down to (Muhammad [SAWW](PBUH) (alone) from among us?" Nay! but they are in doubt about My Reminder (this Qur’an)! Nay, but they have not tasted (Allah’s) Torment!
Tafseer of Surah Suad Ayat 7. "We never heard (the like) of this among the people of these latter days: this is nothing but a made up tale!" 'Whatever may have been the case in the past', they said, 'our own immediate ancestors worshipped these idols in Makkah, and why should we give them up? Self-complacency was stronger with them than Truth; and so they call Truth "a made-up tale"! Some Commentators interpret al Millat al Akhirah to refer to the last religion preached before Islam, viz. Christianity, which had itself departed from Monotheism to Trinity. Ayat 8. "What! hasthe Message been sent to him (Of all persons) among us?"...but they are in doubt concerning My (Own) Message! Nay, they have not yet tasted My Punishment! Here comes in envy. 'If a Message had to come, why should it come to him, the orphan son of 'Abd Allah, and not to one of our own great men?' They have no clear idea of how Allah's Message comes! It is not a worldly thing to be given to anyone. It is a divine thing requiring spiritual preparation. If they close their eyes to it now, it will be brought home to them when they taste the consequences of their folly!
Hazrat Ibn `Abbas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "O Allah! To You I have submitted, and in You do I believe, and in You I put my trust, to You do I turn, and for You I argued. O Allah, I seek refuge with You through Your Power; there is none worthy of worship except You Alone; that You safeguard me against going astray. You are the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists; the One Who never dies, whereas human beings and jinn will all die". [Muslim Book 35, Chapter 17, Hadith # 6561]
Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah As-Suad Ayat 7. "We have not heard (the like) of this among the people of these later days. This is nothing but an invention!” Even in the worst circumstances one should always have faith and trust in Allah, Allah (SWT) says "I am just as Myslave thinks of Me when he remembers Me". Allah is more pleased with the repentance of His servants than anything else. This Hadith highlights the merits of expecting good treatment of Allah. But this has to be backed by good actions, in the same way as one can hope for good results after ploughing and sowing seeds. It is obvious that one who accomplishes good deeds will expect good consequences, and one who does evil deeds will expect evil consequences. Allah will treat people according to their expectation that are founded on their actions, and the reward will match their deeds.
