২২. যখন তিনি মাদইয়ান অভিমুখে রওনা হলেন তখন বললেন, আশা করা যায় আমার পালনকর্তা আমাকে সরল পথ দেখাবেন।
Ayat 22. And when he went towards (the land of) Madyan (Midian) he said: "It may be that my Lord guides me to the Right Way."
Tafseer of Surah Al-Qasas (The Narration) Ayat 22. Then, when he turned his face towards (the land of) Madyan,(3349) he said: "I do hope that my Lord will show me the smooth and straight Path." East of Lower Egypt, for about 300 miles, runs the Sinai Peninsula, bounded on the south by the Gulf of Suez, and on the north by what was the Isthmus of Suez, now cut by the Suez Canal . Over the Isthmus ran the highroad to Palestine and Syria , but a fugitive could not well take that road, as the Egyptians were after him. If he could, after crossing the Isthmus, plunge into the Sinai desert, east or southeast, he would be in the Midianite territory, where the people would be Arabs and not Egyptians. He turned thither, and again prayed to Allah for guidance.
Hazrat Ibn Masood (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "Truth leads to piety and piety leads to Jannah. A man persists in speaking the truth till he is enrolled with Allah as a truthful. Falsehood leads to vice and vice leads to the Fire (Hell), and a person persists on telling lies until he is enrolled as a liar".' [Muslim Book 32, Chapter 26, Hadith # 6306].
Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Al-Qasas Ayat 22. “my Lord guides me to the Right Way” Siddiq (veracious) and Kadhdhab (liar) both are adjectives of intensive degree. That is to say, the words stand respectively for someone whose truth has become his second nature; and in the opposite case, one is a liar who is in the habit of telling lies. As one acquires a reputation in this world for his good or bad deeds similar is his position before Allah. One who is ranked among the truthful with Him is entitled to reward, and if one is a liar, he has to suffer retribution for it. This Hadith provides incentive for truthfulness because it is a source of every good deed and contains a warning against lying as it gives rise to all kinds of mischief.
