২৮. তারপর আমি তার সম্প্রদায়ের উপর আকাশ থেকে কোন বাহিনী অবতীর্ণ করিনি এবং আমি (বাহিনী)অবতরণকারীও না।
২৯. বস্তুতঃ এ ছিল এক মহানাদ। অতঃপর সঙ্গে সঙ্গে সবাই স্তদ্ধ হয়ে গেল।
৩০. বান্দাদের জন্যে আক্ষেপ যে, তাদের কাছে এমন কোন রসূলই আগমন করেনি যাদের প্রতি তারা বিদ্রুপ করে না।
৩১. তারা কি প্রত্যক্ষ করে না, তাদের পূর্বে আমি কত সম্প্রদায়কে ধ্বংস করেছি যে, তারা তাদের মধ্যে আর ফিরে আসবে না।
Ayat 28. And We sent not against his people after him a host from heaven, nor do We send (such a thing).
Ayat 30. Alas for mankind! There never came a Messenger to them but they used to mock at him.
Ayat 31. Do they not see how many of the generations We have destroyed before them? Verily, they will not return to them.
Tafseer of Surah Yaseen, Ayat 28. And We sent not down against his People, after him, any hosts from heaven, nor was it needful for Us so to do. Ayat 29. It was no more than a single mighty Blast, and behold! they were (like ashes) quenched and silent. Allah's Justice or Punishment does not necessarily come with pomp and circumstance, nor have the forces of human evil or wickedness the power to require the exertion of mighty spiritual forces to subdue them. A single mighty Blast-either the rumbling of an earthquake, or a great and violent wind-was sufficient in this case. Cf. 11:67 (which describes the fate of Thamud); also, see to 29:40, and 36:49, Cf. 21:15 . They had made a great deal of noise in their time, but they were reduced to silence, like spent ashes. Ayat 30. Ah! Alas for (My) Servants! There comes not a messenger to them but they mock him! Cf. 6:10 and many other passages of similar import. Ignorant men mock at Allah's prophets, or anyone who takes Religion seriously. But they do not reflect that such levity reacts on themselves. Their own lives are ruined and they cease to count. If they study history, they will see that countless generations were destroyed before them because they did not take Truth seriously and undermined the very basis of their individual and collective existence. My servants is here equivalent to "men". Allah regrets the folly of men, especially as He cherishes them as His own servants. Ayat 31. See they not how many generations before them we destroyed? Not to them will they return: Not to them will they return. What do the pronouns them and they refer to? Commentators and translators have construed them differently, and some of them evade the question. To my mind the best construction seems to be: the generations which we have destroyed before the people addressed ('do they not see?') will not be restored to the people addressed; generations (qarun) standing for the periods of prosperity and good fortune enjoyed by the ancestors. They have all been wiped out; they will never be restored, but all people will be brought before the Judgment Seat for giving an account of their deeds.
Hazrat Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: The Messenger of Allah 
[SAWW](PBUH) used to supplicate (in these words): "Allahumma inni A’udhu bika min sharri ma `amiltu, wa min sharri ma lam a`mal (O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the evil of that which I have done and the evil of that which I have not done).'' [Muslim Book 35, Chapter 17, Hadith # 6558]
Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Yaseen Ayat 31. Do they not see how many of the generations We have destroyed before them? Verily, they will not return to them” This prayer is also very comprehensive. Sometimes a person does a virtuous deed but it is tainted with slight hypocrisy or pride. It is an element which destroys even the most virtuous deeds. It is this mischief against which Allah's Protection has been sought through this prayer.
