[36].Surah Yaseen [Yaseen]: Ayat 45-46

৪৫. আর যখন তাদেরকে বলা হয়, তোমরা সামনের আযাব ও পেছনের আযাবকে ভয় কর, যাতে তোমাদের প্রতি অনুগ্রহ করা হয়, তখন তারা তা অগ্রাহ্য করে।

৪৬. যখনই তাদের পালনকর্তার নির্দেশাবলীর মধ্যে থেকে কোন নির্দেশ তাদের কাছে আসে, তখনই তারা তা থেকে মুখে ফিরিয়ে নেয়।

Ayat 45. And when it is said to them: "Beware of that which is before you (worldly torments), and that which is behind you (torments in the Hereafter), in order that you may receive Mercy (i.e. if you believe in Allah’s Religion ­ Islamic Monotheism, and avoid polytheism, and obey Allah with righteous deeds).

Ayat 46. And never came an Ayah from among the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord to them, but they did turn away from it.

Tafseer of Surah Yaseen, Ayat 45. When they are told, "Fear ye that which is before you and that which will be after you, in order that ye may receive Mercy," (they turn back). Man should consider and beware of the consequences of his past, and guard against the consequences in his future. The present is only a fleeting moment poised between the past and the future, and gone even while it is being mentioned or thought about. Man should review his whole life and prepare for the Hereafter. If he does so, Allah is Merciful: He will forgive, and give strength for a better and higher life in the future. But this kind of teaching does not suit those steeped in this ephemeral life. They are bored, and turn away from it, to their own loss. Ayat 46. Not a Sign comes to them from among the Signs of their Lord, but they turn away therefrom. The Signs of Allah are many, in His great world—in nature, in the heart of man, and in the Revelation sent through His messengers. They turn away from all of them, as a man who has ruined his eyesight turns away from the light.

Hazrat Sahl bin Saad (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah  [SAWW](PBUH) said to `Hazrat Ali bin Talib (May Allah be pleased with him), "By Allah, if a single person is guided by Allah through you, it will be better for you than a whole lot of red camels.'' [Al-Bukhari Book 04, Chapter 52, Hadith # 192]

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Yaseen Ayat 46. And never came an Ayah from among the Ayat(proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord to them, but they did turn away from it” "Better for you than red camels'' is an allegory for everything that is better than anything else. Red camels used to be precious in Arabia, and their reference here is to highlight the value of guidance. Thus, this Hadith brings into prominence the importance of calling people towards Allah. But before calling others to the path of Allah, one must himself know it, and for this purpose, the knowledge of the Qur'an and Hadith is essential because one cannot provide any guidance in this respect without this knowledge.
