[39].Surah Al-Zumar [The Groups]: Ayat 41

Ayat 41. Verily, We have sent down to you (O Muhammad image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) the Book (this Qur’an) for mankind in truth. So whosoever accepts the guidance, it is only for his own self, and whosoever goes astray, he goes astray only for his (own) loss. And you (O Muhammad image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) are not a Wakil (trustee or disposer of affairs, or keeper) over them.

Tafseer of Surah Al Zumar Ayat 41. Verily We have revealed the Book to thee in Truth, for (instructing) Mankind. He, then, that receives guidance benefits his own soul: but he that strays injures his own soul. Nor art thou set over them to dispose of their affairs. Revelation is sent by Allah through His messenger, but it is for all. It is given in order that men and women may be taught Righteousness. It is given in Truth: there is no pretense about it. It is for their own good. If they reject it and follow Evil, the loss is their own. Allah's messengers do all they can to teach mankind. But they cannot force men's wills. If men reject their teaching, the account of the rejecters is with Allah. Cf. 6:107.
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allahimage001.jpg[SAWW](PBUH) said,  ,  "Every one of my followers will be forgiven except those who expose (openly) their wrongdoings. An example of this is that of a man who commits a sin at night which Allah has covered for him, and in the morning, he would say (to people): "I committed such and such sin last night,' while Allah had kept it a secret. During the night Allah has covered it up but in the morning he tears up the cover provided by Allah Himself.'' [Bukhari Book 08, Chapter 73, Hadith # 95].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Al-Zumar Ayat 41. “whosoever goes astray, he goes astray only for his (own) loss” We learn from this Hadith that commission of a sin due to human frailties on which one is ashamed but does not like to express is something which might hopefully be forgiven by Allah. In fact, its remission after penitence is almost sure. But to commit a sin openly is totally different because, firstly, the heart of such a person is deprived of the fear of Allah. Secondly, he has no respect and regard for Divine injunctions. Thirdly, such a person usually does not repent his sins. Fourthly, he makes a declaration of breach of Divine injunctions which amounts to inviting His wrath and punishment.
