Ayat 55.
And nothing prevents men from believing, now when the guidance (the Qur'an)
has come to them, and from asking Forgiveness of their Lord, except that the
ways of the ancients be repeated with them (i.e. their destruction decreed by
Allah), or the torment be brought to them face to face?
[Tafseer] But man's obstinacy or contrariness asks or calls
for a repetition of what happened to the wicked and those who rejected Faith in
ancient times. Out of curiosity, or by way of challenge, they seem to court the
Punishment and ask that it be brought to pass at once. But it will come soon
enough, and then they will think it too early! (And naught hindered
mankind) the people of Mecca, those who sponsored the army that fought against
Muslims at Badr (from believing) in Muhammad (PBUH), and in the Qur'an (when the
guidance) Muhammad (PBUH) and the Qur'an (cometh unto them, and from asking for
forgiveness of their Lord) repent of disbelief and accept faith, (unless (it be
that they wish) that the judgment of the men of old should come upon them)
unless the destruction of the people of old should seize them (or (that) they
should be confronted) on the Day of Badr (with the Doom) with the
sword.
Hazrat Abu Hurairah
(May Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah
[SAWW](PBUH) said, "Allah, the Exalted, becomes angry, and His Anger is provoked
when a person does what Allah has declared unlawful.''
[Al-Bukhari
Book 07, Chapter 62, Hadith #
150].
Lesson : as
mentioned above in Surah Al-Kahf Ayat 55. "and from asking
Forgiveness of their Lord"This Hadith warns us
against committing sins and all that Allah has forbidden in order to avoid
exciting the anger of Allah.
