Ayat 1. Draws near for
mankind their reckoning, while they turn away in heedlessness.
Ayat 2.
Comes not unto them an admonition (a chapter of the Qur'an) from their Lord
as a recent revelation but they listen to it while they
play,
[Tafseer] Surah Al-Anbiya'
which is all Meccan and consists of 112 verses, Closer and closer to mankind comes
their Reckoning: yet they heed not and they turn away. Every minute sees them nearer to
their doom, and yet they are sadly heedless, and even actively turn away from
the Message that would save them. Never comes (aught) to them of a
renewed Message from their Lord, but they listen to it as in
jest,- In
each age, when the Message of Allah is renewed, the very people who should have
known better and welcomed the renewal and the sweeping away of human cobwebs,
either receive it with amused self-superiority, which later turns into active
hostility, or with careless
indifference.
Hazrat Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of
Allah
[SAWW](PBUH) said, "The similitude of one who
remembers his Rubb and one who does not remember Him, is like that of the living
and the
dead.''
[Muslim Book 04, Chapter 121, Hadith #
1706]
Lesson : as
mentioned above in Surah Al-Anbiya' Ayat 01."while they turn
away in heedlessness" Lack of
remembrance of Allah is akin to death. When a person dies, he is unable to do
anything. Similarly, a person who does not remember Allah goes so far from Him
that he cannot do anything which can benefit him.
