[26].Surah Ash-Shuara [The Poets]: ‍Ayat 192-196

Ayat 192. And truly, this (the Qur'an) is a revelation from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists),
Ayat 193. Which the trustworthy Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] has brought down;
Ayat 194. Upon your heart (O Muhammad  [SAWW](PBUH) that you may be (one) of the warners,
Ayat 195. In the plain Arabic language.
Ayat 196. And verily, it (the Qur'an, and its revelation to Prophet Muhammad [SAWW](PBUH) is (announced) in the Scriptures [i.e. the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] of former people.

Tafseer of Ayat 192 to 196. Verily this is a Revelation from ALLAH the Lord of the Worlds: The hostile reception of some of the previous Messengers having been mentioned, the special characteristics of the Qur'an are now referred to, to show (1) that it is true, and (2) that its rejection by the Makkan Pagans was of a piece with the previous experience in the history of man: vested interests resist Truth, but it conquers. With it came down the spirit of Faith and Truth-Al Ruh al Amin, the epithet of Gabriel, who came with the inspired Messages to the Holy Prophet, is difficult to render in a single epithet in translation. I have described some of the various shades of meaning attached to the adjective Amin as applied to a Prophet. A further signification as attached to the Spirit of Inspiration is that it is the very quintessence of Faith and Truth, unlike the lying spirits which delude men with falsehood. On the whole, I think, "the Spirit of Faith and Truth" will best represent the original here. To thy heart and mind, that thou mayest admonish. Qalb (Heart) signifies not only the seat of the affections, but also the seat of the memory and understanding. The process of inspiration is indicated by the impression of the divine Message on the inspired one's heart, memory, and understanding, from which it was promulgated in human speech to the world. In this case the human speech was the perspicuous Arabic tongue, which would be plainly intelligible to the audience who would immediately hear it and be through them transmitted to all the world. In the perspicuous Arabic tongue. Without doubt it is (announced) in the mystic Books of former peoples. The word Zabur, used here, is plural of Zabur, which is mentioned in the Qur'an as the Book revealed to the Prophet Dawud. It has also been used in the Qur'an in the generic sense of "Book" (54:52). Here the word refers to the earlier Revelations.

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, to Jibril (Gabriel), "What prevents you from visiting us more frequently?'' Thereupon was revealed the Ayah: "(The angels say:) `And we (angels) descend not except by the Command of your Rubb. To Him belongs what is before us and what is behind us, and what is between those two". (19:64)
[Al-Bukhari Book 06, Chapter 60, Hadith # 255].

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Ash-Shuara Ayat 193.:Which the trustworthy Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] has brought down" This Hadith tells us about the Prophet's desire for meeting angel Jibril (Gabriel) to have that knowledge which was revealed to him by means of Wahy (Revelation). It also tells us that angels descend to earth for certain mission by the Command of Allah. They have no say of their own in any matter. It also indicates that it is permissible to enquire about Muslim brothers after a long period of time as this is a sign of true love.

[26].Surah Ash-Shuara [The Poets]: Ayat 189-191

Ayat 189. But they belied him, so the torment of the day of shadow (a gloomy cloud) seized them, indeed that was the torment of a Great Day.
Ayat 190. Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers.
Ayat 191. And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful.

Tafseer of Ayat 189 to 191. But they rejected him. Then the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom seized them, and that was the Penalty of a Great Day. Perhaps a shower of ashes and cinders accompanying a volcanic eruption. If these people were the same as the Midianites, there was also an earthquake. It must have been a terrible day of wholesale destruction-earthquake, volcanic eruption, lava, cinders and ashes and rumbling noises to frighten those whose death was not instantaneous. Verily in that is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful.

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH), was speaking to us when, a bedouin came and asked him: "When will the Last Day be?'' The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) continued his talk. Some of those present thought that he had heard him but disliked the interruption and the other said that he had not hear him. When the Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) concluded his speech he asked, "Where is the one who inquired about the Last Day?'' The man replied: "Here I am.'' The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) replied, "When the practice of honouring a trust is lost, expect the Last Day.'' He asked: "How could it be lost?'' He replied, "When the government is entrusted to the undeserving people, then wait for the Last Day.''  [Al-Bukhari Vol-1, Book 3, Hadith # 56].

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Ash-Shuara Ayat 189."the torment of the day of shadow (a gloomy cloud) seized them, indeed that was the torment of a Great Day" Here a very important sign of the nearness of the Day of Judgement has been mentioned: The affairs of the world will be in the hands of wicked and undeserving people. The sinners and wicked people will become the leaders of the world. The preaching pulpits would also be occupied by people who would be greedy and ignorant. They will be devoid of piety and abstinence.

[26].Surah Ash-Shuara [The Poets]: Ayat 184-188

Ayat 184. "And fear Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old."
Ayat 185. They said: "You are only one of those bewitched!
Ayat 186. "You are but a human being like us and verily, we think that you are one of the liars!
Ayat 187. "So cause a piece of the heaven to fall on us, if you are of the truthful!"
Ayat 188. He said: "My Lord is the Best Knower of what you do."

Tafseer of Ayat 184 to 188. "And fear Him Who created you and (who created) the generations before (you)" They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched! "Thou art no more than a mortal like us, and indeed we think thou art a liar! They deny that he is a prophet or that they are doing wrong, or that any former generations behaved differently. They think they are the true exponents of human nature, and that such as he-idealists-are mere madmen. "Now cause a piece of the sky to fall on us, if thou art truthful!" 'If you really claim any real contact with Allah, let us see if you can bring down a piece of the sky to fall on us!' He said: "My Lord knows best what ye do." The challenge to bring down a piece of the sky was merely empty bravado, on the part of those who had called him a liar. But Shu'ayb does not insult them. He merely says: "Allah is the best judge of your conduct: what more can I say?" And Allah did punish them.

Hazrat Jabir (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "My parable and that of yours is like a man who kindled a fire. When it has illuminated all around him, the moths and grasshoppers began to fall therein. He tried to push them away, but they overcame him and jumped into it. I am catching hold of your waists ties (to save you) from fire, but you slip away from my hands".
[Muslim Book 030,Chapter 06, Hadith # 5672]

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Ash-Shuara Ayat 184.fear Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old" This Hadith mentions the extreme kindness which the Prophet (PBUH) had for the welfare of his followers. It also mentions the misfortune of those who would become the fuel of Hell for not accepting Islam in spite of the utmost affection and ardour of the Prophet (PBUH) to bring them in the fold of Islam. People who fail to accept Islam would fall in the Hell-fire in the same way moths fall in the fire.
