[18].Surah Al-Kahf [The Cave]: Ayat 1-3

Ayat 1. All the praises and thanks be to Allah, Who has sent down to His slave (Muhammad SAWW (PBUH) the Book (the Qur'an), and has not placed therein any crookedness.
Ayat 2. (He has made it) Straight to give warning (to the disbelievers) of a severe punishment from Him, and to give glad tidings to the believers (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), who work righteous deeds, that they shall have a fair reward (i.e. Paradise).
Ayat 3. They shall abide therein forever.
[Tafseer] The theme of the last Surah, that Allah is good and worthy of all praise from His creatures, to whom He has granted a clear revelation, is continued in this Surah. The spirit of man makes gradual progress upwards, through the grace and mercy of Allah. Some people's idea of a Sacred Book is that it should be full of mysteries dark corners, ambiguous expressions, words so far removed from human speech that they cover anything or nothing. Pagan oracles were couched in language which suggested one meaning to the hearer and claimed to have the very opposite meaning in the light of events which actually happened subsequently. They were distinctly crooked, not straight. In the next verse, the word "Straight" (qayyim) is used to characterize the Qur'an, in contrast to this word "crooked" ('iwaj).Qayyim: straight, that which has no bends and no corners to mystify people, that which speaks dearly and unambiguously, that which guides to the right path where the a ejective is used for a straight usage, in contrast to usages, which tend to mystify and deceive people. The Qur'an is above all things straight, clear, and perspicuous. Its directions are plain for everyone to understand. Any book that deals with the highest mysteries of spiritual life must necessarily have portions whose full meaning is clearer to some minds than to others not so well prepared. But here there is nowhere any mystification, any desire to wrap up things in dark sayings repugnant to human reason. Allah's purpose is to give clear warnings of spiritual dangers and lead up to the highest bliss..

Hazrat Abud-Darda' (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said: "Whoever commits to memory the first ten Ayat of the Surat Al-Kahf, will be protected from (the trial of) Ad-Dajjal (Antichrist).''
[Muslim Book 04, Chapter 135, Hadith # 1766].
In another narration, the Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH)  said: "(Whoever commits to memory) the last ten Ayat of Surat Al-Kahf, he will be protected from (the trial of) Ad-Dajjal (Antichrist).'' [Muslim Book 04, Chapter 135, Hadith # 1767].

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Al-Kahf Ayat 02. "(He has made it) Straight to give warning" Ad-Dajjal will appear sometime before Yaum-ul-Qiyamah. Allah, the Almighty will give him some supernatural powers the manifestation of which will shake the faith of many people. For this reason, this will be a serious trial. All Prophets warned their people against him. Our Prophet (PBUH) also warned us against him and ordered us to guard ourselves from it and strictly advised us to seek Refuge of Allah against it. This Hadith tells us the way to save ourselves from Ad-Dajjal. The recitation of the first or the last ten Ayat of Surat Al-Kahf, in the morning and evening, is very useful for this purpose. Sheikh Al-Albani has, however, regarded the last ten Ayat probably and the first ten Ayat surely effective against this mischief.
