[18].Surah Al-Kahf [The Cave]: Ayat 28

Ayat 28. And keep yourself (O Muhammad  [SAWW](PBUH) patiently with those who call on their Lord (i.e. your companions who remember their Lord with glorification, praising in prayers, etc., and other righteous deeds, etc.) morning and afternoon, seeking His Face, and let not your eyes overlook them, desiring the pomp and glitter of the life of the world; and obey not him whose heart We have made heedless of Our Remembrance, one who follows his own lusts and whose affair (deeds) has been lost.
[Tafseer] (Restrain thyself along with those who cry unto their Lord) who worship their Lord (at morn and evening) the reference here is to Hazrat Saad bin Abu Waqqas (May Allah be pleased with him) and his fellow believers, (seeking His Countenance) by worshipping Him they seek only Allah's Countenance and good pleasure; (and let not your eyes overlook them, desiring the pomp of the life of the world) the embellishment of this worldly life; (and obey not him whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance) of Our divine Oneness, (who followeth his own lust) by worshipping the idols (and whose case) and whose words (hath been abandoned) at a loss. This verse was revealed about 'Pagans Chief of Quresh'.

Hazrat Saad bin Abu Waqqas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Six of us were with the Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) when the infidels said to him: "Drive these ones away, lest they should begin to venture against us". The six were, myself, Ibn Masud, a man of the Hudhail tribe, Bilal and two other men whose names I don't know. Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) thought what Allah wished him to think, and Allah revealed: "And turn not away those who invoke their Rubb, morning and afternoon seeking His Face.'' (6:52)
[Muslim Book 31, Chapter 05, Hadith # 5936].
Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Al-Kahf Ayat 28. "And keep yourself (O Muhammad [SAWW](PBUH) patiently with those who call on their Lord (i.e. your companions who remember their Lord with glorification" This Hadith tells us that those people alone have value in the sight of Allah who are equipped with Faith and good deeds, no matter how humble they are in the eyes of people because of their poverty and indigence. Those who are deprived of Faith and good conduct have absolutely no value in His sight even if they hold a high status in this world. This Hadith also exhorts the believers that criterion for respect and honour should also be Faith, not the lineage or wealth.
