[41]. Ha-Mim_Al-Sajdah (Prostration) also known as Surah Fussilat [They Are Explained in Detail]: Ayat 017-018

Ayat 17. And as for Thamud, Allah showed and made clear to them the Path of Truth (Islamic Monotheism) through Our Messenger, (i.e. showed them the way of success), but they preferred blindness to guidance, so the Sa’iqah (a destructive awful cry, torment, hit, a thunderbolt) of disgracing torment seized them, because of what they used to earn.
Ayat  18. And Allah saved those who believed and used to fear Allah, keep their duty to Him and avoid evil.

Tafseer of Surah Ha-Mim Al-Sajdah (or Surah Fussilat) Ayat 17 and 18. As to the Thamud, We gave them Guidance, but they preferred blindness (of heart) to Guidance: so the stunning Punishment of humiliation seized them, because of what they had earned. The story of Thamud usually goes with that of 'Ad. Cf. 36:140-59; also 7:73- 79. "The stunning Punishment": i.e., deafening noises like those of thunder and lightning; or the rumbling of a terrible earthquake. In 7:78, an earthquake is suggested. Ayat 18. But We delivered those who believed and practiced righteousness.

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allahimage001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) was asked, "Which deed is the best?'' He [SAWW](PBUH) replied, "Faith in Allah and His Messenger.'' He [SAWW](PBUH) was asked, "What is next?'' He (PBUH) replied, "Jihad (holy fighting) in the Cause of Allah.'' Then he was asked: "What is after that (in goodness)?'' He [SAWW](PBUH) replied, "Hajj Mabrur (which is accepted by Allah).'' [Al-Bukhari Book 01, Chapter 02, Hadith # 25].

Lesson: as mentioned above Hadith "Different acts have been regarded more meritorious in different Ahadith. For this reason, some scholars have performed the justification that the word mun "whoever" is the keynote in such cases. That is, such and such acts come in the category of eminent acts or they have been mentioned with reference to circumstances and time or place. For instance, at certain times or at certain places or for certain persons, performing Salat in the early prescribed hours is more meritorious, or Hajj through representative or Jihad is more meritorious, etc.
