[35].Surah Fatir [The Originator of Creation]: Ayat 28

Ayat 28. And of men and Ad-Dawab (moving living creatures, beasts, etc.), and cattle, in like manner of various colors. It is only those who have knowledge among His servants that fear Allah. Verily, Allah is All Mighty, Oft Forgiving.

Tafseer of Surah Fatir Ayat 28. And so amongst men and crawling creatures and cattle are they of various colors. Those truly fear Allah, among His Servants, who have knowledge: for Allah is Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving. In the physical shapes of human and animal life, also, we see variations in shades and gradations of colors of all kinds. But these variations and gradations, marvelous though they be, are as nothing compared with variations and differences in the inner or spiritual world. See next note. In outer nature we can, through colors, understand and appreciate the finest shades and gradations. But in the spiritual world that variation or gradation is even more subtle and more comprehensive. Who can truly understand it? Only Allah's servants, who know, i.e., who have the inner knowledge which comes through their acquaintance with the spiritual world-it is such people who truly appreciate the inner world, and it is they who know that the fear of Allah is the beginning of wisdom. For such fear is akin to appreciation and love-appreciation of all the marvelous beauties of Allah's outer and inner world ("Allah is Exalted in Might") and love because of his Grace and Kindness ("Oft-Forgiving"). But Allah's forgiveness extends to many who do not truly understand Him.

Hazrat Uthman bin `Affan (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) said, "He who recites three times every morning and evening: `Bismillahil-ladhi la yadurru ma`as-mihi shai'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i, wa Huwas-Sami`ul-`Alim (In the Name of Allah with Whose Name there is protection against every kind of harm in the earth or in the heaven, and He is the All-Hearing and All-Knowing),' nothing will harm him.'' [Abu Dawud Hadith # 5088 and At-Tirmidhi Hadith #3388]
Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Fatir Ayat 28. It is only those who have knowledge among His servants that fear Allah. Verily, Allah is All Mighty, Oft Forgiving. The prayer cited in this Hadith means that "I seek the Protection of Allah by means of which one can save himself from every vice, whether it is an animal or man, a jinn or Satan because He is Aware of everyone's condition and Capable of hearing everybody's petition. He who comes in His Protection none can harm him, except that which He wills.''
