[26].Surah Al-Naml [The Ants]: Ayat 12-14

Ayat 12. "And put your hand into your bosom, it will come forth white without hurt. (These are) among the nine signs (you will take) to Firaun (Pharaoh) and his people, they are a people who are the Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah).
Ayat 13. But when Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) came to them, clear to see, they said: "This is a manifest magic."
Ayat 14. And they belied them (those Ayat) wrongfully and arrogantly, though their own selves were convinced thereof [i.e. those (Ayat) are from Allah, and Musa (Moses) is the Messenger of Allah in truth, but they disliked to obey Musa PBUH (Moses), and hated to believe in his Message of Monotheism]. So see what was the end of the Mufsidun (disbelievers, disobedient to Allah, evil-doers, liars.)

Tafseer of Surah Al Naml (The Ants) Ayat 12 to 14. "Now put thy hand into thy bosom, and it will come forth white without stain (or harm): (these are) among the nine Signs (thou wilt take) to Pharaoh and his people: for they are a people rebellious in transgression." There the expression is: "Draw thy hand close to thy side." As far as the physical act is concerned, the expressions there and here mean the same thing. Moses had a loose-fitting robe. If he put his hand within the folds of the robe, it would go to his bosom on the side of his body opposite to that from which the hand came: i.e., if it was his right hand it would go to the left side of his bosom. But the difference of expression has little spiritual significance. The bosom here stands for his innermost being, which was being so transformed with divine light as to lend the radiance to his hand also, his instrument of action. The hand comes out white and radiant without a stain. Ordinarily if the skin becomes white it is a sign of disease or leprosy. Here it was the opposite. It was a sign of radiance and glory from the higher Light. The nine Signs: see Surah 17 Ayat 101. But when Our Signs came to them, that should have opened their eyes, they said: "This is sorcery manifest!" The Signs should have clearly opened the eyes of any persons who honestly examined them and thought about them. Those who rejected them were perverse and were going against their own light and inner conviction. That was the aggravating feature of their sin. And they rejected those Signs in iniquity and arrogance, though their souls were convinced thereof: so see what was the end of those who acted corruptly!
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah image001.jpg[SAWW](PBUH) said,  "Do not ask me unnecessarily about the details of the things which I do not mention to you. Verily, the people before you were doomed because they were used to putting many questions to their Prophets and had differences about their Prophets. Refrain from what I forbid you and do what I command you to the best of your ability and capacity".  [Al-Bukhari Chapter # 92 Hadith # 391].

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Al-Naml Ayat 14 "So see what was the end of the Mufsidun (disbelievers, disobedient to Allah, evil-doers, liars.)" To be unnecessarily inquisitive and create differences and confusion in the Injunctions of Allah and His Prophet image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) leads to destruction. The safest course lies only in following the Orders of Allah and His Prophet image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) without `ifs' and `buts.' Hairsplitting in religious issues falls in this category. It opens the door for chaos and conflict and paves the way for disunity and separation. May Allah give sense to the Muslim Ummah to abandon this road and take the Right Path which ensures peace and security. Let it be absolutely clear that the Right Path is one and one alone. There cannot be multiple right paths, it is one and singular. Once a community leaves the Straight Path, it is sure to go astray
