Ayat 29. "He (they Kafir will say) Shaitan indeed led me
astray from the Reminder (this Qur'an) after it had come to me. And
Shaitan (Satan) is ever a deserter to man in the hour of need."
Ayat 30. And the
Messenger (Muhammad SAWW (PBUH) will say: "O my Lord! Verily, my people
deserted this Qur'an (neither listened to it, nor acted on its laws and
orders).
[Tafseer] of Ayat 29. "He did lead me astray from the
Message (of Allah. after it had come to me! Ah! the Evil One is but a traitor to
man!" The
seductive wiles of the Evil One are merely meant for snares. There is fraud and
treachery in them. The deceived ones are left in the lurch after the way of
escape is made impossible for them [Tafseer] of Ayat 30. Then the Messenger will say: "O
my Lord! Truly my people took this Quran´an for just foolish nonsense."
"My people" are of
course the unbelieving Quraish. They treated the Qur'an as foolish nonsense
i.e., something to he discarded. But they were only a handful of people whose
vested interests were touched by the beneficent reforms initiated by Islam. They
soon passed away, and all Arabic-speaking or Arabic understanding people have
considered the Qur'an as a treasury of Truths expressed in the most beautiful
possible language, with a meaning that grows deeper with research.
Hazrat Ibn Masud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of
Allah
[SAWW](PBUH) said to me: "Recite the Qur'an to me". I said, "O Messenger of
Allah! Shall I recite the Qur'an to you, when it has been revealed to you?'' He
[SAWW](PBUH) replied, "I love to hear it recited by others". So I recited to him
a portion from Surat An-Nisa'. When I reached the Ayah: "How (will
it be) then, when We bring from
each nation a witness and We bring you (O Muhammad
[SAWW](PBUH) as a witness against these people?". (4:41) He
[SAWW](PBUH) said, "Enough for now". When I looked at him I saw his eyes
were shedding tears.

Lesson : as
mentioned above in Surah Al-Furqan Ayat 30."Messenger (Muhammad
SAWW
(PBUH) will say: "O my Lord! Verily, my people deserted this Qur'an"
This Hadith tells us that besides the recitation of the
Noble Qur'an, a Muslim should also listen to it from others so that he can
contemplate further on it. It also makes one weep when one listens to the Noble
Qur'an.
