[25].Surah Al-Furqan [The Criterion]: Ayat 32

Ayat 32. And those who disbelieve say: "Why is not the Qur'an revealed to him all at once?" Thus (it is sent down in parts), that Allah may strengthen your heart thereby. And We have revealed it to you gradually, in stages. (It was revealed to the Prophet SAWW(PBUH)in 23 years.).

[Tafseer] of Ayat 32. Those who reject Faith say: "Why is not the Quran revealed to him all at once? Thus (is it revealed), that Allah may strengthen thy heart thereby, and Allah rehearsed it to thee in slow, well-arranged stages, gradually. Three reasons are given for the gradual revelation of the Qur'an. (1) "To strengthen thy heart': the tremendous task of winning the Arab nation, and, through them, the whole world, to Islam, required superhuman patience, constancy, and firmness, and these qualities were strengthened by the gradual promulgation of solutions to each difficulty as it arose. (2) "Slow, well-arranged stages": though the stages were gradual, as the occasion demanded from time to time, in the course of twenty-three years, the whole emerged, when completed, as a well-arranged scheme of spiritual instruction, as we have seen in following the arrangement of the Surahs. (3) Questions put and answers given.

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "Any group of people that assemble in one of the Houses of Allah to study the Qur'an, tranquility will descend upon them, mercy will engulf them, angels will surround them and Allah will make mention of them to those (the angels) in His proximity.''  [Muslim Book 35, Chapter 11, Hadith # 6518].

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Al-Furqan Ayat 32."(it is sent down in parts), that Allah may strengthen your heart thereby" The meaning of the Hadith is that they teach one another by discussing the Quranic sciences, and knowledge the Qur'an contains. This meaning is correct because both these acts are auspicious and are means of gaining the Pleasure of Allah. This Hadith, however, does not tell us in any way that this group of people recite the Qur'an all at once. This was not the practice of the Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH).
