Ayat 34. Or He may destroy them (by drowning) because of that which their (people) have earned. And He pardons much.
Ayat 35. And those who dispute (polytheists, etc.) as regards Our Ayat (proofs, signs, verses, etc. of Islamic Monotheism) may know that there is no place of refuge for them (from Allah’s punishment).
Tafseer of Surah Al Shura (Consultation) Ayat 34 and 35. Or He can cause them to perish because of the (evil) which (the men) have earned; but much doth He forgive.
Ayat 35. But let those know, who dispute about Our Signs, that there is for them no way of escape. If
we treat Allah's Signs in the wrong spirit, i.e., contumaciously reject
them or constantly dispute about them instead of trying to understand
them, we are told that such tactics will avail us nothing: we cannot
escape the consequences of our
sins. The only way to escape is by repentance on our part and the grant of mercy by Allah.
Hazrat Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH)
used to supplicate: "Allahumma inni A’udhu bika minal-ajzi wal-kasali,
wal-jubni wal-harami, wal-bukhli, WA A’udhu bika min `adhabil-qabri, wa
A’udhu bika min fitnatil-mahya wal-mamat [O Allah! I seek refuge in You
from helplessness (to do good), indolence, cowardice,
senility, and miserliness; and I seek Your Protection against the
torment of the grave and the trials of life and death].'' Another
narration adds: "wa dala`id-daini wa ghalabatir-rijal (And from the
burden of indebtedness and the tyranny of men).'' [Muslim Book 35, Chapter 14, Hadith # 6536]
