[18].Surah Al-Kahf [The Cave]: Ayat 110

Ayat 110. Say (O Muhammad  [SAWW](PBUH): "I am only a man like you. It has been inspired to me that your Ilah (God) is One Ilah (God i.e. Allah). So whoever hopes for the Meeting with his Lord, let him work righteousness and associate none as a partner in the worship of his Lord."
[Tafseer] (Say) O Muhammad [SAWW](PBUH): (I am only a mortal like you) I am a human being like you. (My Lord inspired in me) through Gabriel (that your God is only One God) and He has no son or partner. (And whoever hopes for the meeting with his Lord) whoever fears resurrection after death, (let him do righteous work) sincerely, and secretly between him and his Lord, (and make none sharer of the worship due unto his Lord) he should not show off or associate in the worship of his Lord anything or anyone; it is also said that this means: he should not associate in his obedience of his Lord anything or anyone. Righteousness and true respect for Allah-which excludes the worship of anything else, whether idols, or deified men, or forces of  nature, or faculties of man, or Self-these are the criteria of true worship.
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "Follow the Right Path of Faith strictly, and be steadfast; and keep in mind that none of you can achieve salvation through his (good) actions.'' Someone asked, "Not even you, O Messenger of Allah?'' He  [SAWW](PBUH) said, "Not even me, unless Allah grants me His Mercy and Grace".
[Muslim Book 39, Chapter 15, Hadith # 6762].
Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Al-Kahf Ayat 110."work righteousness and associate none as a partner in the worship of his Lord" This Hadith tells us that although the importance of Faith and its practice is beyond any shadow of doubt, because this is the only way to attain His Favours and Blessings, but one should not entirely depend upon practice only because any shortcoming (which one does not even know) can ruin a good deed. It is, therefore, essential that we also pray that our good deeds are accepted by Allah and that He grants us His Infinite Mercy and sincerity because even the greatest noble deed is invalid without it.
