[19].Surah Maryam [Mary]: Ayat 24-25

Ayat 24. Then [the babe 'Iesa (Jesus) or Jibrael (Gabriel)] cried unto her from below her, saying: "Grieve not! Your Lord has provided a water stream under you;
Ayat 25. "And shake the trunk of date-palm towards you, it will let fall fresh ripe-dates upon you."
[Tafseer] (Then (one) cried unto her from below her) i.e. Gabriel, (saying: Grieve not) O Mary over the birth of Jesus! (Thy Lord hath placed a rivulet beneath thee) a prophet beneath you; it is also said that this means: Jesus cried unto her from beneath her: grieve not your Lord has placed a stream beneath you, (And shake the trunk of the palm-tree towards you, thou wilt cause ripe dates to fall upon thee). Unseen Providence had seen that she should not suffer from thirst or from hunger. The rivulet provided her with water also for ablutions.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas`ud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) used to supplicate: "Allahumma inni as'alukal-huda, wat-tuqa, wal-`afafa, wal-ghina (O Allah! I beseech You for guidance, piety, chastity and contentment).''
[Muslim Book 35, Chapter 17, Hadith # 6566 ].
Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Maryam Ayat 24."saying: "Grieve not! Your Lord has provided a water stream under you;" "Guidance'' means guidance towards virtue which one needs at every step. The ability to do good and steadfastness on the Right Path is also covered by the term guidance. To comply with the Orders of Allah and to prevent oneself from what He has forbidden is Taqwa (fear of Allah), the importance of which needs no elaboration. `Affaf is prevention from sins. It also means evasion from seeking help from others. Ghina means riches which makes one independent of others so much so that all one's hopes are centered on Allah Alone. The prayer quoted in this Hadith is very comprehensive indeed.
