Ayat 44. "O
my father! Worship not Shaitan (Satan). Verily! Shaitan (Satan)
has been a rebel against the Most Beneficent (Allah).
Ayat 45. "O my father! Verily! I
fear lest a torment from the Most Beneficent (Allah) overtake you, so that you
become a companion of Shaitan (Satan) (in the Hell-fire)."
[Tafseer]
(O my father! Serve not the devil) do not obey the devil concerning the worship
of idols. (Lo! the devil is a rebel unto the Beneficent) the devil is a
disbeliever in Allah. The rebellion is all the
more heinous and inexcusable, considering that Allah is Most Just, Most
Merciful, Most Gracious. (O my father! Lo! I fear) I know (lest a punishment
from the Beneficent overtake thee) if you do not believe in Him (so that thou
become a comrade of the devil) a companion of the devil in hell. To entertain a feeling of friendliness, instead of aversion, to
Evil, is in itself a degradation of our nature, a Penalty which Allah imposes on
our deliberate rejection of the Truth. And the friendliness to Evil also implies
the sharing of the outlawry of Evil.
Hazrat Jabir (May
Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard Messenger of Allah
[SAWW](PBUH) saying, "If a person mentions the Name of Allah upon entering his
house or eating, Satan says, addressing his followers: `You will find no where
to spend the night and no dinner.' But if he enters without mentioning the Name
of Allah, Satan says (to his followers); `You have found (a place) to spend the
night in, and if he does not mention the Name of Allah at the time of eating,
Satan says: `You have found (a place) to spend the night in as well as food.'''

Lesson : as
mentioned above in Surah Maryam Ayat 45."so that you become a
companion of Shaitan (Satan)" Herein, we are told that in order to ward off Satan and his followers, we
are supposed to remember Allah before entering our house and before beginning to
eat. The remembrance of Allah implies those appropriate prayers of the Prophet
(PBUH) which have been mentioned in Ahadith. For example, we are instructed to
pronounce the Name of Allah before beginning to eat. On entering our house we
recite the following Prophetic prayer: "Allahumma inni as'aluka khairal-mawliji wa khairal-makhraji.
Bismillahi wa lajna, wa bismillahi kharajna, wa `al-Allahi rabbina
tawakkalna.'' (O Allah! I ask you for what is good of entrance and what
is good for exit. With the Name of Allah do we enter, and with the Name of Allah
do we leave, and upon our Rubb Allah have we put our
trust).
