[19].Surah Maryam [Mary] : Ayat 85-87

Ayat 85. The Day We shall gather the Muttaqun (pious) unto the Most Beneficent (Allah), like a delegate (presented before a king for honour).

Ayat 86. And We shall drive the Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, etc.) to Hell, in a thirsty state (like a thirsty herd driven down to water),

Ayat 87. None shall have the power of intercession, but such a one as has received permission (or promise) from the Most Beneficent (Allah).

[Tafseer] The day We shall gather the righteous to ((Allah)) Most Gracious, like a band presented before a king for honours, And We shall drive the sinners to Hell, like thirsty cattle driven down to water, Note the contrast between the saved and the doomed. The one march with dignity like honoured ones before a king, and the other rush in anguish to their punishment like a herd of cattle driven down by thirst to their watering place. Note the metaphor of the water. They rush madly for water but are plunged into the Fire! None shall have the power of intercession, but such a one as has received permission (or promise) from ((Allah)) Most Gracious.

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "Be prompt in doing good deeds (before you are overtaken) by turbulence which would be like a part of the dark night. A man would be a believer in the morning and turn to disbelief in the evening, or he would be a believer in the evening and turn disbeliever in the morning, and would sell his Faith for worldly goods.''

[Muslim Book 01,Chapter 51, Hadith # 213] 

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Maryam Ayat 86."And We shall drive the Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, etc.) to Hell, in a thirsty state (like a thirsty herd driven down to water)," This Hadith tells that the Day of Resurrection will be preceded by a long chain of calamities. Because of the rush of these calamities, religion and Faith will loose their value in people. There will be a race for wealth, so much so that people would not hesitate to compromise their religion and Faith to acquire wealth. People will rapidly change their faces. This is what actually happening. In this situation true believers are exhorted to adhere strictly to Faith and perform noble deeds without delay.
