Ayat 28. While they have no knowledge thereof. They follow but a guess, and verily, guess is no substitute for the truth.
Ayat 29. Therefore withdraw (O Muhammad [SAWW](PBUH) from him who turns away from Our Reminder (this Qur’an) and desires nothing but the life of this world.
Tafseer of Surah An-Najm (The Star) Ayat 27 to 29. Those who believe not in the Hereafter, name the angels with female names. Cf. 53:21 above. The Pagan Quraysh had no firm belief in the Hereafter. Their prayers for intercession to angels and deities was on account of their worldly affairs. 28. But they have no knowledge therein. They follow nothing but conjecture; and conjecture avails nothing against Truth. Cf. 53:23. 29. Therefore shun those who turn away from Our Message and desire nothing but the life of this world.
Hazrat Al-Mustuarad bin Shaddad (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH)
said, "This world (i.e., its pleasures and duration) in comparison with
the Hereafter is (similar to the amount of water) one gets when he puts
his finger in the sea. Let him then see what it returns with". [Muslim Book 40, Chapter 14, Hadith # 6843].
Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah An-Najm Ayat 29. Therefore withdraw (O Muhammad [SAWW](PBUH) from him who turns away from Our Reminder (this Qur’an) and desires nothing but the life of this world” This Hadith shows the value of the Hereafter and its blessings compared to the worldly life. The proportion between the two is that the former is like an ocean while the latter is like the proportion of water left on one's finger when dipped in the sea!
