১১. রসূলের অন্তর মিথ্যা বলেনি যা সে দেখেছে।
১২. তোমরা কি বিষয়ে বিতর্ক করবে যা সে দেখেছে?
১৩. নিশ্চয় সে তাকে আরেকবার দেখেছিল,
১৪. সিদরাতুলমুন্তাহার নিকটে,
১৫. যার কাছে অবস্থিত বসবাসের জান্নাত।
১৬. যখন বৃক্ষটি দ্বারা আচ্ছন্ন হওয়ার,
তদ্দ্বারা আচ্ছন্ন ছিল।
১৭. তাঁর দৃষ্টিবিভ্রম হয় নি এবং সীমালংঘনও করেনি।
১৮. নিশ্চয় সে তার পালনকর্তার মহান নিদর্শনাবলী অবলোকন করেছে।
Ayat 12. Will you then dispute with him (Muhammad [SAWW](PBUH) about what he saw [during the Mi’raj: (Ascent of the Prophet PBUH over the seven heavens)] .
Ayat 13. And indeed he (Muhammad [SAWW](PBUH) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] at a second descent (i.e. another time).
Ayat 17. The sight (of Prophet Muhammad [SAWW](PBUH) turned not aside (right or left), nor it transgressed beyond (the) limit (ordained for it).
Tafseer of Surah An-Najm (The Star) Ayat 11. The (Prophet´s PBUH) (mind and) heart in no way falsified that which he saw. "Heart" in Arabic includes the faculty of intelligence as well as the faculty of feeling. The impression conveyed was pure truth; there was no illusion in it. 12. Will ye then dispute with him concerning what he saw? 13. For indeed he saw him at a second descent, The first occasion when Gabriel appeared in a visible form was at the Mountain of Light , when he brought his first revelation beginning with Iqra': see C. 29-35. The second was at the Prophet's Mi'raj or Ascension: see Introduction to S. 17, paras. 2-4. These were the only two occasions when Gabriel appeared in visible form. (R). 14. Near the Lote-tree beyond which none may pass: For the Lote-tree in its literal meaning, see 34:16. The wild Lote is thorny; under cultivation it yields good fruit and shade, and is symbolic of heavenly bliss, as here and in 56:28. 15. Near it is the Garden of Abode. The "Garden of Abode” (Jannat al-Ma‘wa) lies close to the Lote-tree and, in the opinion of some authorities, is so called because the souls of believers will find their abode therein. [Eds.]. 16. Behold, the Lote-tree was shrouded (in mystery unspeakable!) 17. (His) sight never swerved, nor did it go wrong! 18. For truly did he see, of the Signs of his Lord, the Greatest!
Hazrat Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH)
said, "During the Miraj (the Night of Ascension), I saw a group of
people who were scratching their chests and faces with their copper
nails. I asked, `Who are these people, O Jibril?' Jibril replied: `These are the people who ate flesh of others (by backbiting) and trampled people's honour.'' [Abu Dawud Hadith # 4878].
Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah An-Najm Ayat 18. Indeed he (Muhammad [SAWW](PBUH) did see, of the Greatest Signs, of his Lord (Allah)". "These are the people who ate flesh of others'' is a metaphor for backbiting. "To trample people's honour'' is akin to harming their goodwill and honour. The punishment for these things mentioned in Hadith makes their seriousness obvious.
