Ayat 74. They (the people of Ibrahim's clan) said: "Nay,
but we found our fathers doing so."
Ayat 75. Ibrahim PBUH said: "Do you observe that which you have been
worshipping,
Ayat 76. "You
and your ancient fathers?
Ayat 77.
"Verily! They are enemies to me, save the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind,
jinns and all that exists);
Ayat 78. "Who
has created me, and it is He Who guides me;
Ayat 79. "And
it is He Who feeds me and gives me to drink.
Ayat 80. "And
when I am ill, it is He who cures
me;
Tafseer
of Ayat 74 to 80. They
said: "Nay, but we found our fathers doing thus (what we do)." He said: "Do ye
then see whom ye have been worshipping,-"Ye and your fathers before you?- "For
they are enemies to me; not so the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds;
The
things that you worship are enemies to mankind: let me testify from my own
personal experience: they are enemies to me: they can do me no good, but would
lead me astray. Contrast with their importance or their power of mischief the
One True God Whom I worship: He created me and all the Worlds; He cherishes me
and guides me; He takes care of me; and when I die, He will give me new life; He
will forgive me and grant me final Salvation. Will you then come to this true
worship? How can you doubt, after seeing the contrast of the one with the other?
Is it not as the contrast between Light and Darkness?' "Who
created me, and it is He Who guides me; "Who gives me food and drink, "And when
I am ill, it is He Who cures
me;
Hazrat Abu Hurairah
(May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah
[SAWW](PBUH) said, "If anyone calls others to follow right guidance, his reward
will be equivalent to those who follow him (in righteousness) without their
reward being diminished in any respect, and if anyone invites others to follow
error, the sin, will be equivalent to that of the people who follow him (in
sinfulness) without their sins being diminished in any respect". [Muslim
Book 06, Chapter 34, Hadith #
6470].
Lesson : as
mentioned above in Surah Ash-Shuara Ayat 75.""Do you observe that
which you have been worshipping" `Invitation' and
`Call' stand to mean here that someone induces others to virtue or seduces to
sin by means of his speech or action. We come to know from this Hadith that one
who becomes a medium for either of them is given a reward or punishment
respectively by Allah (SWT).
