Ayat 29. And (remember) when We sent towards you (Muhammad SAWW] PBUH) Nafran (three
to ten persons) of the jinns, (quietly) listening to the Qur’an, when
they stood in the presence thereof, they said: "Listen in silence!" And
when it was finished, they returned to their people, as warners.
Tafseer of Surah Al-Ahqaf Ayat 29. Behold, We turned towards thee a company of Jinns (quietly) listening to the Qur´an: when they stood in the presence thereof, they said, "Listen in silence!" When the (reading) was finished, they returned to their people, to warn (them of their sins). A company Jinns. Nafar (company) may mean a group of from three to ten persons. For Jinns, see Ayat 6:100. They listened to the reading of the Qur'an with great respect. The next verse shows that they had heard of the Jewish religion, but they were impressed with the Message of Islam, and they seem to have gone back to their people to share the Good News with them.
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah
[SAWW](PBUH) said, "When a group of people assemble for the
remembrance of Allah, the angels surround them (with their wings),
(Allah's) mercy envelops them, Sakinah, or tranquility descends upon
them and Allah makes a mention of them before those who are near Him.'' [Muslim Book 35, Chapter 11, Hadith # 6518].
Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Al-Ahqaf Ayat 29. “the jinns, (quietly) listening to the Qur’an, when they stood in the presence thereof, they said: "Listen in silence!" This Hadith also highlights the merits of remembrance of Allah and the high grades of the people indulging in it.
