[46]. Surah Al-Ahqaf [The Curved Sand Hills]: Ayat 031

Ayat 31. O our people! Respond (with obedience) to Allah’s Caller (i.e. Allah’s Messenger Muhammad image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH), and believe in him (i.e. believe in that which Muhammad image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) has brought from Allah and follow him). He (Allah) will forgive you of your sins, and will save you from a painful torment (i.e. Hell-fire).

Tafseer of Surah Al-Ahqaf Ayat 31. "O our people, hearken to the one who invites (you) to Allah, and believe in him: He will forgive you your faults, and deliver you from a Penalty Grievous. The one who invites all to Allah is the Prophet PBUH. He invites us to Allah: if we believe in Allah and His Prophet PBUH, Allah will forgive us our sins on our repentance and amendment of our lives, and save us the Penalty of the future life.

Hazrat Abu Musa (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) said, "Allah, the Exalted, will continue to stretch out His Hand in the night so that the sinners of the day may repent, and continue to stretch His Hand in the daytime so that the sinners of the night may repent, until the sun rises from the west". [Muslim Book 05, Chapter 037, Hadith # 6644].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Al-Ahqaf Ayat 31. “He (Allah) will forgive you of your sins, and will save you from a painful torment (i.e. Hell-fire)This Hadith confirms an essential Attribute of Allah, i.e., the Hand which He stretches out anytime He wishes without drawing similarity to it, nor interpretation. Such was the attitude of the pious predecessors with regards to all of the essential Attributes of Allah. It is deduced from this Hadith that if one commits a sin during any hour of day or night, he should immediately seek the forgiveness of Allah as a result.
