[46]. Surah Al-Ahqaf [The Curved Sand Hills]: Ayat 009

৯. বলুন, আমি তো কোন নতুন রসূল নই। আমি জানি না, আমার ও তোমাদের সাথে কি ব্যবহার করা হবে।  আমি কেবল তারই অনুসরণ করি, যা আমার প্রতি ওহী করা হয়। আমি স্পষ্ট সতর্ক কারী বৈ নই।

Ayat 9. Say (O Muhammad  [SAWW](PBUH)):"I am not a new thing among the Messengers (of Allah) (i.e. I am not the first Messenger) nor do I know what will be done with me or with you. I only follow that which is revealed to me, and I am but a plain warner."

Tafseer of Surah Al-Ahqaf Ayat 9. Say: "I am no bringer of new-fangled doctrine among the messengers, nor do I know what will be done with me or with you. I follow but that which is revealed to me by inspiration; I am but a Warner open and clear." 'What is there to forge? All prophets have taught the Unity of Allah and our duty to mankind. I bring no new-fangled doctrine, but eternal truths that have been known to good men through the ages. It is to reclaim you that I have come. I do not know what will be your fate for all this callousness, nor what you will do to me. But this I know, that I am preaching truth and righteousness, as inspired by Allah. My duty is only to proclaim aloud and clearly the Message entrusted to me by Allah. The rest I leave to Allah. 

Hazrat Jabir (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "My parable and that of yours is like a man who kindled a fire. When it has illuminated all around him, the moths and grasshoppers began to fall therein. He tried to push them away, but they overcame him and jumped into it. I am catching hold of your waists ties (to save you) from fire, but you slip away from my hands".  [Muslim Book 030, Chapter 06, Hadith # 5672]

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Al-Ahqaf Ayat 09. “I only follow that which is revealed to me, and I am but a plain warner."  This Hadith mentions the extreme kindness which the Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) had for the welfare of his followers. It also mentions the misfortune of those who would become the fuel of Hell for not accepting Islam in spite of the utmost affection and ardour of the Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) to bring them in the fold of Islam. People who fail to accept Islam would fall in the Hell-fire in the same way moths fall in the fire.
