Ayat 8. Or say they: "He (Muhammad [SAWW](PBUH)
has fabricated it." Say: "If I have fabricated it, still you have no
power to support me against Allah. He knows best of what you say among
yourselves concerning it (i.e. this Qur’an)! Sufficient is He for a
witness between me and you! And He is the Oft-Forgiving, the Most
Merciful."
Tafseer of Surah Al-Ahqaf Ayat 8. Or do they say, "He has forged it"? Say:" If I forged a message from myself as one purporting to come from Allah, you would not be able to see me enjoy any of the blessings from Allah which I enjoy: you would not see me calm and relying on Allah, nor would you see me bear the reputation of being a trustworthy man. A liar comes to an evil end. But what about those who talk so glibly and freely about things which they know not? Allah knows all, and He is my witness! But even against your false accusations, I pray for His forgiveness and mercy to you, for He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful!'
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "Follow
the Right Path of Faith strictly, and be steadfast; and keep in mind
that none of you can achieve salvation through his (good) actions.''
Someone asked, "Not even you, O Messenger of Allah?'' He [SAWW](PBUH) said, "Not even me, unless Allah grants me His Mercy and Grace". [Muslim Book 39, Chapter 15, Hadith # 6762].
Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Al-Ahqaf Ayat 8. Or say they: "He (Muhammad [SAWW](PBUH) has fabricated it." Say: "If I have fabricated it, still you have no power to support me against Allah” This Hadith tells us that although the importance of Faith and its practice is beyond any shadow of doubt, because this is the only way to attain His Favors and Blessings, but one should not entirely depend upon practice only because any shortcoming (which one does not even know) can ruin a good deed. It is, therefore, essential that we also pray that our good deeds are accepted by Allah and that He grants us His Infinite Mercy and sincerity because even the greatest noble deed is invalid without it.
