[46]. Surah Al-Ahqaf [The Curved Sand Hills]: Ayat 021

Ayat 21. And remember (Hazrat Hud PBUH) the brother of 'Ad, when he warned his people in Al-Ahqaf (the curved sand-hills in the southern part of Arabian Peninsula). And surely, there have passed away warner’s before him and after him (saying): "Worship none but Allah; truly, I fear for you the torment of a mighty Day."

Tafseer of Surah Al-Ahqaf Ayat 21. Mention (Hud PBUH) one of ´Ad´s (own) brethren:. The point is that the Warner who was raised among 'Ad people-as among other peoples-was not a stranger, but one of their own brethren, even as the Prophet began his preaching with a call to his own brethren Quraysh. Winding Sand-tracts: Ahqaf: Introduction to this Surah. The very things, which, under irrigation and with Allah's Grace, gave them prosperity and power, were to be their undoing when they broke Allah's Law and defied His Grace.

Hazrat Abu Musa (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allahimage001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) said,  "Verily, Allah gives respite to the oppressor. But when He seizes him, He does not let him escape.'' Then he (PBUH)) recited, "Such is the Seizure of your Rubb when He seizes the (population of) towns while they are doing wrong. Verily, His Seizure is painful (and) severe". (11:102). [Al-Bukhari Book 06, Chapter 60, Hadith # 208]

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Al-Ahqaf Ayat 21. “I fear for you the torment of a mighty Day." One should not take the respite for exemption because no one knows when respite granted by Him will come to an end and punishment will follow.
