[50] Surah Qaf [Qaf]: Ayat 001-005

Ayat 1. Qaf. [These letters (Qaf, etc.) are one of the miracles of the Qur’an, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. By the Glorious Qur’an.
Ayat 2. Nay, they wonder that there has come to them a warner (Muhammad image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) from among themselves. So the disbelievers say: "This is a strange thing!
Ayat 3. "When we are dead and have become dust (shall we be resurrected?) That is a far return."
Ayat 4. We know that which the earth takes of them (their dead bodies), and with Us is a Book preserved (i.e. the Book of Decrees).
Ayat 5. Nay, but they have denied the truth (this Qur’an) when it has come to them, so they are in a confused state (cannot differentiate between right and wrong).

Tafseer of Surah Qaf Ayat 50. Qaf Ayat 01 to 05. Qaf: By the Glorious Qur´an (Thou art Allah’s Messenger. This is an Abbreviated Letter. For Abbreviated letters generally, see Appendix I. This particular Abbreviated Letter Qaf occurs only here as a single letter, and in combination at the beginning of S. 42, where I was unable to explain the full combination. Here the Qaf is taken by several Commentators to represent Qudiya al Amr, "the matter has been decreed," with reference to the eschatological trend of the Surah. Allah knows best. Majid (translated "Glorious") is one of the beautiful appellations of the Qur'an. Its glory is that of the rising sun: the more it rises on your mental and spiritual horizon, the more you are lost in admiration of its glory. Its meanings are manifest and inexhaustible. The greater your experience, the more light is your spiritual eye able to bear. And in that glory is a beauty that none can tell who has not experienced it in his soul. It is itself the proof of the mission of the Prophet. Ayat 2. But they wonder that there has come to them a Warner from among themselves. So the Unbelievers say: "This is a wonderful thing! In a sense their wonder is natural: do we wonder at the glorious sun? In another sense it is unnatural: what should we say of a man who fails to see in broad daylight? Ayat 3. "What! When we die and become dust, (shall we live again?) That is a (sort of) return far (from our understanding)." Cf. 37:16. Ayat 4. We already know how much of them the earth takes away: With Us is a record guarding (the full account). The earth only corrupts and takes away the body when they are dead; it has no power over the soul. The full account of the soul's doings is in Allah's Record. Ayat 5. But they deny the Truth when it comes to them: so they are in a confused state. If they deny what has been made clear to them, their minds must necessarily get into confusion. All nature declares the glory and goodness of Allah. Revelation explains the inequalities of this life and how they will be redressed in the Hereafter. If they do not accept this, they are not in a logical position. They cannot reconcile the known with the unknown.

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allahimage001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) said,  "Between the two Blowing of the Trumpet there will be an interval of forty.'' The people said, "O Abu Hurairah! Do you mean forty days?'' He said, "I cannot say anything.'' They said, "Do you mean forty years?'' He said, "I cannot say anything.'' They said, "Do you mean forty months?'' He said, "I cannot say anything. The Prophet image001.jpg[SAWW](PBUH) added: `Everything of the human body will perish except the last coccyx bone (end part of the spinal cord), and from that bone Allah will reconstruct the whole body. Then Allah will send down water from the sky and people will grow like green vegetables'.''  [Al-Bukhari Volume 6, Book 60, Number 457].

Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah Qaf Ayat 3. "When we are dead and have become dust (shall we be resurrected?) That is a far return." 1. When Israfil blows the Trumpet the first time, by Allah's Leave, all those who are in the heavens and on earth will swoon away, except him whom Allah will. This will be the first Blowing. Then, it will be blown a second time, they will become alive and will emerge from their graves. These Blowing are known as the `Blowing of Fainting and Rising'. As regard the interval between these two Blowing, the narrator of the narration, Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him), could not say anything when he was asked about it; as he himself did not know it. But in other narrations the interval has been mentioned as forty years.
2. The earth eats away the whole body of humans except the bodies of the Prophets. However, only the end part of the spinal cord remains intact. How it remains intact is known to Allah, but from it mankind will be created again.
3. Bodies will rise from the earth as vegetation springs out from the earth after the rainfall.
