[50] Surah Qaf [Qaf]: Ayat 022-024

Ayat 22. (It will be said to the sinners): "Indeed you were heedless of this, now We have removed your covering, and sharp is your sight this Day!"
Ayat 23. And his companion (angel) will say: "Here is (this Record) ready with me!"
Ayat 24. (And it will be said): "Both of you throw (Order from Allah to the two angels) into Hell, every stubborn disbeliever (in the Oneness of Allah, in His Messengers, etc.).

Tafseer of Surah Qaf Ayat 22 to 24. (It will be said :) "Thou wast heedless of this; now have We removed thy veil, and sharp is thy sight this Day!" The clearness of vision will now be even greater. And his Companion will say: "Here is (his Record) ready with me!" Qann: Companion. If we take No. 1 of the constructions suggested in early verses, the Companion will be one of the Recording Angels mentioned above, in verse 21 earlier, perhaps the one that drives; or perhaps the third one mentioned in verse 18, for he has the Record ready with him. If we take any of the other constructions mentioned, it will be the evil deeds or the misused faculties. In any case it will be the factors on whose testimony his conviction will be based. 24. (The sentence will be :) "Throw, throw into Hell every contumacious Rejecter (of Allah! The original for "throw", here and in verse 26 of this Ayat, is in the dual number, which some Commentators explain by saying that the dual form is used for emphasis, as if the verb ("throw, throw") were twice repeated. Examples of this are found in Arabic. But is it possible that the dual refers to the two angels mentioned in verses 17 and 21 of this Surah? In that case the Companions in verse 27 will be the third one mentioned in verses 18 and 23. In any case the third one will be the one on whose Record the sentence will be passed.

Hazrat Ibn `Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Messenger of Allah image001.jpg [SAWW](PBUH) was the most generous of the men; and he was the most generous during the month of Ramadan when Jibril visited him every night and recited the Qur'an to him. During this period, the generosity of Messenger of Allah (PBUH) waxed faster than the rain bearing wind.
[Al-Bukhari Book 03, Chapter 31, Hadith # 126].

Lesson: This Hadith induces us to do two good things frequently and with full preparation in the month of Ramadan. First, benevolence and generosity so that people get maximum time for worship and reduce their mundane affairs during this month. Second, recitation of the Qur'an and Mudarsah, (reading and hearing the Qur'an from one another) as is done by two Huffaz in this manner. The reason for the stress on the Qur'an is that the Qur'an and the month of Ramadan are closely linked with each other. The Qur'an was revealed in this month.
